Do not buy from this store. We ordered a $3,000+ side table from Hickory Chair. Over 12 months (yep), they shipped us 3 units all of which were damaged. They either have poor quality materials or they have no clue how to securely ship items. In the end, they offered an offensive discount despite the terrible experience. They are also terrible at communication, with emails getting no reply for 7+ days and voicemails unanswered. Unsure really how this place is in business. Take your energy elsewhere.

I work for a NYC design firm and would warn anyone from putting in an order with this company. They have taken more orders than they can handle and provide misleading delivery dates. Upholstered couches and beds ordered last June and promised in four months have not been completed after 8 months and promised completion dates (January, February, March) have come and gone with no updates from the company. These are simple upholstered pieces. Other companies and workrooms our firm uses have been able to complete similar projects with no major delays. Other work completed by Hickory Chair was marked by poor workmanship and missing parts. A senior executive confided that they have taken in six times the amount of pre-Covid orders (and client deposits) with a diminished staff. Working with this company has been one headache after another.

Never again! I bought a lot of furniture from Hickory Chair and was so upset when the sofa cushions started breaking down within a few months. They compress into a hard seat even though I rotate them and fluff them. I returned them to the showroom and had the filling replaced for over $500. Now I’m sitting on the new ones and they are just as bad.

My great aunt was an interior decorator in Knoxville for many years. As an adult (who is now an architect working mostly on fine homes in Nashville), I have come to appreciate her talents more and more as I develop my own skills and tastes. Even as a child, I shared her love for 18th century decor. She taught me that brands like Councill Craftsmen, Craftique, and Hickory Chair were everything a Georgian furniture lover could ever dream of. She always instilled in my younger brother and myself the idea that Hickory Chair really was the best of the best. Coincidentally, I recently purchased a used chippendale antique sofa (still wrapped in plastic to protect it during moving) because it reminded me so much of the one I had coveted in the Hickory Chair catalogues as a child. After keeping it in storage since purchasing it, I finally pulled it out to put it in the house. As I was moving it, a tag flopped out and I might as well have been Indiana Jones finding a lost treasure. I lifted the cushion and there it was, embroidered in fine text, "Hickory Chair - Since 1911." Without realizing it, I had purchased the exact sofa I had always dreamt of! As an adult design professional, working in a firm that shares an office space with an interior design showroom open to trade professionals only, I am very familiar with Hickory Chair's quality reputation and can't brag on them enough. They really are the best!

When I was asked to furnish 10 common rooms for a private high school in Southborough MA, Hickory Chair was my go to furniture manufacturer. There quality is unsurpassed! They have amazing style and functionality. With beautiful quality leather it was easy to choose the furnishings that included 20 leather sofas. Furniture pieces that had to stand up to my most aggressive clients to date! It has now been 10 years since we placed that order. When I returned to see what those years of abuse looked like, I was amazed! The frames where still as solid as the day we got them and the leather still has some years of life left! I love my Hickory bar stools. I originally found and fell in-love w/this style on Christmas Eve at a San Francisco restaurant. While sitting at the bar I embarrassed my friends as I insisted on inspecting my bar stool so I could learn the maker. Well I found out it was a Hickory Chair stool and my quest was on. On NYE I visited w/ a lovely designer that is closest to my area (1 hour away) that sells this brand and found out they are built to order. I choose the wood, stain, upholstery and nail heads. They arrived a few weeks later and are better than expected! They look lovely in my newly remodeled kitchen/dining area! Thank you!
