Heartland Floors

John and his crew did a phenomenal job on refinishing our ash floors. Their attention to detail in planning the project as well as the way they left the house when they were finished was impressive. We were especially appreciative of their willingness to take on extra work [and communication] in handling the installation of our new refrigerator after the floors were finished. This is not the first time we have used Heartland and I continue to be impressed with the care that they take in each job. They treated our home like their own.

We exclusively use John on our client projects, and have for years. Not only is he a wonderful, kind person, but his professionalism and quality of work are top notch. While we'd like to keep John and his team all to ourselves, we also know the value of keeping his business flourishing. Our clients are always thrilled to with the results of their hardwood projects, whether it's color-matching existing flooring, or putting in a brand new floor, you won't be disappointed.

I’d like to echo the previous reviewer. We hired John to put in new hardwood floors in our dining and living room, and then finish our existing hardwood floors throughout the first floor. The floors turned out so beautiful and the transitions between the new and existing floors is flawless. John was extremely responsive, professional, and reasonably priced. He is very customer service oriented and I definitely appreciate his daily updates on the floors while we were out of town. The quality of his work is impressive. Thanks John!!

We met and hired John Carlson of Heatland Floors for a large scope of work: Replaced and matched a section of existing parquet flooring; added new baseboard trim thoughout the main floor; adjusted door and room threshold transitions; finished new hardwood stairs and installed new hardwood board landing; refinished (Swedish, 3 coats) all hardwood floors (standard board and parquet) and existing hardwood staircase in our 1912 home. This was no small or easy job. A month later, we are still overwhelmed by the result which far exceeded our expectations and is as close to perfection as one can achieve. The work is absolutely beautiful and the process was efficient with extremely high attention to detail. John and his partner Joe are veterans within their trade and they masterfully execute all the work themselves. They are deeply knowledgeable about wood flooring and finishing and were able to diagnosis and correct existing problems (such as mis-matched wood species and unlevel floor transitions) in our quirky old home . We have received compliments on the gleaming floors and stairs from every person who has been in our home since Heartland finished the job. Before starting any work, John and Joe carefully taped off our entire house, moved and covered appliances. They prepared and protected our home as though it were one of their own which we greatly appreciated. There was no damage, mess or dust left behind when the work was complete. Throughout the process, John was very communicative in answering our questions quickly and comprehensively as well as keeping us informed with daily progress updates. The estimate was very fair especially for the highest level of quality they deliver. The job stayed on track and within budget. John and Joe are an absolute pleasure to work with and demonstrate the best type of work ethic and integrity you could hope for. We will definitely hire them again if the need arises and recommend them with total confidence.
