About Us

Faith Baum Architects: Residential Renovation and Additions. Committed to designing your house so that you can create your home. Founding principle of FBA, Faith Baum, received her Bachelor of Arts (1973) and Master of Architecture (1978) degrees from the University of Pennsylvania. An active member of the BSA and AIA, she is a registered architect in the states of MA, RI and PA. In addition to her practice, Faith is adjunct professor at the Rhode Island School of Design. She has created curriculum and degree programs for the Boston Architectural College, serves as guest critic at numerous universities, and presents and writes for industry conferences and journals. These professional activities inform her practice, ensuring that her clients have homes that endure, function well, and are memorable places to enjoy.

We loved working with Faith and are so glad trusted her every step of the way in our whole house remodel project. Her keen eye for architectural design, attention to detail, and client centered approach, truly made the experience exciting and fun for us. We love our “new” house.

Faith did an excellent job on our project. We spoke in person with three architects before choosing her. She understood very quickly what we were trying to achieve with our house. Faith did a few things in the planning process that we really, really appreciated: (1) she was willing to meet with us early on weekdays, which was the most convenient time for us, (2) she stayed within our budget, (3) she made some design suggestions that we had never thought of (these ended up being some of our favorite elements of the project). Her vision was spot on! She stayed in touch throughout the project and helped us resolve a few final issues with our contractor. Faith was professional, timely, thoughtful, and had a wonderful design eye. Beyond being a great architect, Faith is a lovely person and very nice to work with. I hope we have another opportunity to work together in the future.

I hired Faith Baum to design a kitchen/family room/mudroom addition/renovation including a butler's pantry redesign, and two ensuite bathroom creation/renovations. I especially wanted Faith's expertise in helping the new project integrate seamlessly with the original house both inside and out, while providing a totally updated living space to meet today's requirements. Faith brought her creative expertise to the project, applied numerous out of the box solutions, and helped create a project that surpassed my expectations. I so enjoyed working with Faith. She has a wonderful personal energy and it was a pleasure to work collaboratively with her and my builder. I couldn't be happier with the outcome of the project and working with Faith. I can wholeheartedly recommend her!
