While searching for someone to help me with new kitchen window treatments, I found Kathy through the Houzz website. Best thing I ever did! Kathy is a gem - professional, knowledgeable, talented, and extremely hard-working. I had purchased the fabric for the window treatments on my own and by the end of Kathy's first visit to my home, she and I had determined exactly what we would do, how long it would take and agreed on the cost. When the finished product arrived (ahead of schedule - because Kathy overheard that I was hosting a dinner party prior to the agreed upon completion date), I realized what a bargain I had gotten. The window treatments were gorgeous, the fabric she recommended for the edging was perfect, and the installation quick and professional. To make a long story short, we're now working on Phase II of the kitchen project: cushions, placemats, tablecloths. Kudos to Houzz for providing such quality professionals on their website.

Last Winter I hired Evening Shades to create drapery for my home (2 valences and 1 set of curtains). Kathy was not only patient, but insightful and extremely professional from start to finish. She came to my home for measurement, style reviews, and installation. The final product was gorgeous!! Whenever we have guests over they always comment on how beautiful they are! If I ever need drapery again, I will certainly give Kathy a call.

Kathy with Evening Shades was very flexible, knowledgable, and professional. We purchased a house that needed all new window coverings. She came prepared to show options but listened to my wants and needs. She was flexible with our timeline and kept in contact to make sure things were going well and on track. Even when we had to reorder blinds because of a change in the dimensions of the window she was able to adapt and adjust with no additional cost to us. Pricing was fair and competitive to other options in the area. They also were nice enough to install a set of curtains and pull-backs I had sitting and waiting for after the blinds without even being asked too. Would recommend this company and Kathy to anyone looking for window covering options.

We purchased blinds/window coverings for our vacation home from Evening Shades. All looked great and was exactly what we needed. We experienced a couple of maintenance/adjustment issues. All were taken care of in a timely manner and without any hesitation. Evening Shades is highly recommended for knowledge, quality and standing behind the products.

I had my entire home done by Kathy Janku around 12 years ago. She designed and did all the sewing of every window treatment in our house. She listened to all of my suggestions and ideas and was able to come up with absolutely beautiful treatments. I didn't want to cover our windows because of our great view of the woods in our yard. Kathy was able to create window treatments that framed the view instead of covering it. Kathy is so easy to work with and would love to use her talents in the future.

Kathy from Evening Shades provided insight on updates and creativity to blend my vision with my current design. She took the time to listen to understand thoughts, level of involvement and timeline. Evening Shades exceeded my expectation of quality, cost of goods/installation and their expedited delivery. I continue to get compliments from all who visit regarding the high level of craftsmanship and beauty of the work - better yet, I enjoy the results every day I look at them. It's always great to receive excellent products but equally important to deal with people as in Evening Shades who offer patience, laughter and a never ending smile in customer service!

I first used Kathy/Evening Shades 15-20 years ago when blinds were needed for our newly built home. Although I have considered updating our blinds and did consult Kathy for options, I have decided to wait as our blinds continue to work great and remain "in style" for our home. When I decided to add valances to our home I again consulted Kathy and had valances made for our living room/dining room, a spare bedroom, laundry room, and master bedroom. Most recently (2015) I have been working with Kathy on updating my living room/dining room valances. Although I have not made any decisions to date, she assisted me in finding some material to be used to recover my dining room chairs as well as to cover an old coffee table so it could be converted into a coffee table/footrest. My old living room/dining room valances were modified by Kathy to fit in a spare room/den. Each time I have worked with Kathy she has demonstrated a great deal of patience (as I am very indecisive in decorating matters), brings a wealth of ideas and samples, allows the client to express their decorating personality, has completed each project in a timely manner, and is always personable as well as professional.

Kathy Janku of Evening Shades is a delight! I first met her 16 years ago when she did extensive work in my home with custom drapes and shades. Most recently I contacted her again for more shades and blinds in the house. Kathy is always prepared with examples of different fabrics, textures and price points. She does the measuring and ordering (or sewing in the case of drapes or curtains) and her husband, Mike expertly installs everything for you. And it doesn't stop there. If there's a problem, Kathy is there to fix it. The minute Kathy comes into your home you know that not only will you get beautifully designed window treatments but you will also make a new friend!

I hired Evening Shades to create a customized patio door drapery for my home. With her many fabric selections, I was able to pick a fabric that complimented my upholstered chairs perfectly. The work was completed in a timely manner and the installation done within the specified time frame. Kathy listened to my requirements for the project, such as high quality fabric, lined drapery, O-ring hardware, and delivered a finished a drapery that exceeded my expectations. I will not hesitate to hire her again on any further drapery need.

We added an additional to our house that had lots of window space and Kathy was a tremendous help in designing, fabricating and installing window treatments. She has done beautiful work on a window seat for us as well as a piano bench cover. She even made us some gorgeous pillows for our couch. I would recommend her to anyone interested in custom window treatments. She is so professional and has an eye for color and design. The best!

There are 26 windows in my house and each one has a window treatment provided or replaced by Evening Shades. I have hired them for the last 15 years, and I am always delighted with their advice, installation and service. They are completely trustworthy and honest. I love the fact that they keep records on all my windows and know the history, colors and treatments selected over the years. I live in a very cold climate where window treatments are an essential component of heat conservation, so most of the windows have cellular shades as a basic treatment. In addition to the basic shades, we also have Roman shades, full drapes, lace curtains, sheer treatments and an upholstered cornice. I feel that I can fully rely on Evening Shades for advice and good service. I heartily recommend them to anyone looking for custom, coordinated window treatments.
