BEWARE - it appears that ownership has changed. Initially, the builder was responsive. However, a light fell out of the vaulted ceiling in our home which is less than 2 years old. The builder refuses to properly secure the light as we are beyond our one year warranty. The builder installed the fixtures. I would encourage anyone considering this builder to speak to residents of new eddy homes prior to purchasing from this company and hire an independent inspector prior to closing if you see in process.

IMPRESSIVELY INEPT! Eddy Homes built a new home for us. We hoped that a “Luxury Custom Builder” with 49 years of experience would result in “high standards for quality craftsmanship, personal service, and integrity.” We paid a Luxury Price. For that we received: An untimely delivery. Substandard workmanship. Deficient repairs. Lots of excuses… Our home was built with NUMEROUS and SIGNIFICANT DEFECTS. Dealing with Eddy Homes and their vendors was a consistently bad experience. Some issues were not fixed properly after repeated visits. Some issues were not fixed at all and we paid for repairs on our own. Merriam-Webster provides the definition of Luxury as a condition of abundance or great ease and comfort. Eddy Homes provided us with abundant excuses, delays, and incompetent workmanship. Great ease and comfort came after hiring someone else to fix their mistakes. Keep in mind that INCONVENIENCE and ANNOYANCE are specifically excluded from their “Luxury Home Warranty”. Responses to warranty issues from “Customer Care” are always anonymous and unsigned by an actual person. EDDY HOMES. BETTER MARKETED THAN BUILT.

Professional, willing to customize/listen to concerns, courteous, timely. I can't say enough about Eddy Homes. I embarked on searching for a new home in 2015. I debated on whether I wanted a new home, or to purchase an existing home. After not being please with the price offerings of existing homes and the layout of many old homes I started searching for new construction. The main concern I had with new construction was lack of attention with the home construction process and the locations available. Many of the national builders are focused on pumping out homes at a price. If you can afford better construction you won't be disappointing with Eddy Homes. Not only do they use high quality materials and pay attention to details for the living areas of the home. I also have solid construction (poured concrete foundation, very good insulation, etc.) At the start of the home process I was walking through a model like mine in the same complex and expressed a structural issue that didn't create as good of a flow to the open layout of my first floor. They recognized the structural beam could be changed from a wood beam to a steel beam, thus raising the beam 1 foot. This makes a huge difference in the openness of the main living area. Eddy Homes also changed the door opening to my extra basement bedroom from a single door to a double french door, since I was making that room into a workout room. As the construction process rolled out I found the general contractor and all the workers underneath him that did everything from the electrical to plumbing to be very professional. I met with them at different steps along the way. They would make good suggestions and kept everything moving along at a very fast speed. My home's ground was broke around April of 2016 and they had it finished by December of 2016! After the home was finished they had someone come by and touch up any paint issues a month in. They will do the same 1 year after construction, since settling will create some minor hairline cracks. The appliances all came from Don's Appliances with a 1 year warranty. They solved a few minor issues right away for me. All the materials for my kitchen, bathrooms, fireplace all came from local suppliers who also took the time to ensure I was making good design choices, while keeping costs in mind. I really have no complaints. The only thing I regret was not spending the money on a partially covered deck. I'm having Eddy Homes quote me on that right now as it can be added. I also should have put a floor outlet in the middle of my main living area. There are a few other minor incidentals that I would have added here and there, but that was my fault for not thinking things through enough to meet my needs. The only thing I didn't account for was the speed at which they would move! If it is your first time building a house like it was mine I would recommend really thinking through everything and making sure you ask yourself what would be really hard to add later and then decide if you want to add it to the build. Things will move fast, so make sure to allocate time to analyze and pick out what you like. I'm very busy at work, so a lot of times this was not first on my mind. Finally, the fact that they had a model and other house that Eddy was building to sell gave me ample examples to look at. This really helped me select options, such as my kitchen and bathroom cabinets and counter-tops. It's one thing to view samples at a design store, but it is another to be able to see completed layouts. We chose Eddy Homes to build our new downsized residence because of their high standards in quality and beautiful design choices they offer, in one level, low maintenance living. Throughout the design and building process the team members were helpful and always there for questions. The choices were endless, and the attention to detail in building was excellent. Our project manager was (and is) professional as were the workers themselves. We controlled our budget as all costs were up front and stated clearly before proceeding with each step. After moving in, Eddy Homes continues to be active in making sure everything is satisfactory.

Before coming to Eddy Homes, I have been involved with the construction of 2 homes of my own. My experience dealing with Eddy Homes has been nothing short of excellent, from the beginning of construction to the completion of the home. From the very beginning my husband and I were very impressed with Eddy Homes! Jonathan Moritz and his sales team were so down to earth and made us feel very comfortable and were so knowledgeable about the home building process. We loved the home designs and their suggestions and options made this home perfect for us. Then we moved on to work with Christina to choose our specific selections which she made fun and easy and helped us to create a beautiful home! Brad the building supervisor was top notch in overseeing our home being built and was always concerned in our satisfaction with how everything was going and was a joy to deal with. Finally, Matthew Moritz helped us through the closing process and was a great help! Overall Eddy Homes has made our home buying experience a enjoyable one!!

They were great to work with, honest. They use quality materials and take their time. My husband is an engineer and is very, very picky .... we are pleased and liked working with them. They build a beautiful quality home. I would recommend building with them.

Eddy homes built our home and did an AMAZING. job. The quality of the work was outstanding. They got us in to the house only 2 weeks after the suggested date and that delay was really our fault because we added some features in the house We have had a couple minor issues that are to be expected in major construction and I can tell u that they have been IMMEDIATELY responsive. No questions asked. If they have not come on the day we called, it was at the latest the next day and have always taken care of it I would recommend them to anyone who is looking to build a home. We were told how painful building a house could be but I can honesty say that the entire experience was fun and very smooth. For our house, we had help from their interior designer who was wonderful and very responsive and helpful. We had two crew chiefs that always answer phone calls promptly and answered all out questions. They also took care of everything and any problems we had The owners were great to work with, honest and on budget. again, I would recommend them without reservation to anyone thinking of building a home

Eddy Homes is known in the Pittsburgh area for building high quality homes, with great attention to detail. I have had the privilege of doing interior design jobs for clients in a few Eddy Homes and have been impressed by the quality of materials used, thought to layout, use of space, and interior details. My clients have been happy with their purchase. I would recommend this builder to buyers in the South Hills of Pittsburgh and beyond.

After looking at many locations and builders, we chose to build our home with Eddy Homes because of the quality. Eddy Homes pays attention to the detail and it shows. From the first meeting which outlined what we should expect over the next five to six months to the closing, Eddy Homes and everyone involved was professional. Jon was patient and answered our never ending questions as we thought through our decision. Brad, the project manner was readily available and responded promptly to each question we presented. Cristina, the designer, was equally as responsive and provided input and insight when asked. Unlike many builders today, we were able to customize our home. We changed the floor plan to meet our needs. We met many of the individuals who worked on our home and all were respectful and took pride in their work. During a conversation with one individual, his comment was "no one sticks a home like Eddy Homes" and he was right. While we have closed and are completely settled in our home, Eddy Homes (Brad and Jon) continue to be available and responsive. The service continues after the sale is complete. We have recommended Eddy to others and will continue to share our positive experience with anyone who asks. We are please with our choice to build with Eddy Homes.
