About Us

Ed has enjoyed a 38 year career in the construction & development industry. He began as an assistant superintendent with Lincoln Property Company in 1983 prior to graduating from Auburn University in the spring of 1984. He rapidly advanced into the roles of Project Manager and Sr. Project Manager with LPC and other national builder/developers such as Gables Residential, Regency Homes and Toll Brothers. He later served as the Director of Development for an Orlando based multi-family firm producing $45 million annually in construction work and $85 million in completed development product. He was responsible for new site acquisition, proforma/financial viability, permitting, zoning & site plan approvals as well as coordination of all architectural, engineering, geotechnical and environmental consultants. Since December of 2013, ESG has completed over $6.4 million of custom homes and remodels and currently has $2.3 million of custom homes under contract scheduled to be completed by the end of 2023. ESG has experience building homes from $200,000 to over $1.8 milliion, Ed provides exceptional service and a keen eye to detail for the design and construction of your custom beach home.

Ed Gard of ESG Construction Services built our home in Flagler Beach in 2018. We would rate our experience with Ed as excellent. He is honest in his discussions with customers and realistic in pricing, no surprises. He routinely goes above and beyond to make the home building experience pleasurable. Our home was delivered in the timeframe estimated by Ed, and within our budget. More important than the building experience, is that after almost 3 years, Ed stands behind his work. When we had minor issues after we moved in (not unusual in a new build), a call to Ed was all it took to have someone come out. We never saw an additional bill! We would recommend you talk to Ed when considering your new home; you will not be disappointed. Jerry & Sandy.

To say that Ed Gard is a professional at what he does is a vast understatement of what he really brings to the entire process of having a custom home built for you and your family. Honesty and integrity throughout the entire process created the trust that is so critical in such an endeavor. I was living in Colorado for much of the building process for my home in Flagler Beach and Ed provided daily updates including progress pictures that made the process both comfortable as well as fun!!! Any issues that arose during the process were handled with the utmost of tact and integrity. Ed is an excellent listener an easy to communicate with either in person, over the phone or with emails, txt, etc. I felt comfortable every step of way toward completion. It has been over 4 months now since I have taken ownership of my new home and Ed is just as responsive today to any issues or questions that come up. He truly stands behind his work and takes pride in the product as well as the ongoing relationship with his customer after the fact. Fantastic builder. Any concerns during the build just pick up your phone and call Ed. He will always either answer or call you right back. He did a great job for me and I have no reservations about recommending him to anyone looking to build. This builder dies not cut corners...things are done right the first time.

Ed was the best choice for my home construction in Flagler Beach. He was motivated, very fair and honest, while having thoughts and ideas that showed we were on the same page from day one. We worked as one thru out the build, and I was confident, being on the other side of the state during much of the construction, that I could count on his overseeing and guidance during times I was unavailable. Its not often that you are fortunate to find a builder that you have the utmost confidence in both integrity and honesty, and I found this in Ed at ESG Construction Services.

Ed is very knowledgeable of the building process and local building codes.; most of his subcontractors are good-he follows up with them promptly if there are issues. He is sensitive and accommodating to his clients’ needs, and is a pleasure to work with.

From the initial bid proposal to the completion of our home, Ed was a true professional. He was on the job and checked the progress from clearing of the land until the final inspection. He was on site to insure work was done according to plans. There were no surprises at the end; he kept us informed as work progressed and all changes we requested were well documented. He was mindful of our budget, and due to his constant diligence, he was able to complete our home in a timely manner. He made the building of our home a truly pleasant experience.

We hired Mr Gard to build our new home in Flagler Beach, Florida. Since we had never had a home built we were skeptical based on stories we had heard regarding issues that might arise. We were pleasantly surprised on how smoothly the entire process played out. Ed was always quick to return calls and resolve any issues.

My wife and I purchased a lot in Flagler Beach back in 2009 while living in PA., and with the intent of building a house upon retirement. We were so fortunate to connect with Ed Gard, as his honesty, flexibility with building just what we wanted, and excellent communication skills made the project easy and without stress usually associated with home construction. We would recommend ESG Construction Services to anyone!

Ed and ESG Construction were great to work with. I was building a vacation home from afar, and he was very accommodating of electronic communication and scheduling the selection process in a compressed timeframe. He also “thought like the owner” as things came up in the construction process. I was able to comfortably rely on his suggestions. I would highly recommend Ed —especially for cases where the owner is remote from the building location. The house looks beautiful.

We hired ESG Construction for one reason - Ed Gard. He built us a retirement home we will forever be proud of and he did it within our budget and explained every cost - pro and con. You will not find a more reliable, honest contractor anywhere else. He listened to what we wanted and built us a true custom home! Want more electrical outlets? No problem. Want your kitchen in the front of the house? No problem. Whatever we asked for he found a way to make it happen and if it just wasn’t feasible (cost wise or construction wise) he explained the reasons. He is honest to a fault and just an all around good guy. We have recommended him to several people and are so pleased with our home. We will continue to recommend ESG as the one true custom home builder in the Flagler Beach area! Update*. Would also like to acknowledge the wonderful contractors that Ed has working with him. We recently discovered a problem and the contractor responsible for that portion of building our home came out and made the problem right even though we were outside our warranty period. I cannot stress enough how wonderful an experience we had working with Ed and his crew.
