We have worked with Shanna and her team of design professionals for many years. We met on the project for The New Southern Home for the 35th Annual South East Builder's Conference. Her insight of design trends is evident in the quality and attention to detail that everyone brings to the table. Having seen enough of their finished projects, my wife and I have made the decision to bring them in on our custom home under construction on 2.7 acres. Shanna and her staff are a delight to work with! They have fantastic ideas, great style, and regardless of the project, they are terrific at satisfying the client's expectations. From my first meeting with DS15, the owner and all of the staff were incredibly professional and informative. The designer took my brief explanation of what I was looking for and transformed my thoughts into an accurate presentation with beautiful designs and details that fit my personality perfectly. When I decided to move forward with the proposal, the rest of the process of selecting furniture and materials was painless. The designer and her staff were always a step ahead of me and anticipated my needs and desires as well as kept me informed of any changes or issues going on with contractors and other vendors. Everything was designed, delivered and installed within the given time frame and budget and turned out more beautifully than I could have imagined. All of my friends are drooling over my new rooms and outdoor area. I will definitely be using DS15 in the near future for even more projects on my house and rental properties!!!

With an extensive portfolio of experience undertaking complex and larger projects, specializing in interior detailing, I would highly recommend Design Studio 15 to anyone desiring a trendy, fashionable, elegant and unique one of a kind design.

Design Studio 15 made a good initial impression, but the whole process became really frustrating when it came to the execution and the results. We trusted them and hired them to take care of everything, however decorating our 2 bedroom condo took a few months instead of the estimated 4 weeks. We were surprised when they made mistakes that you wouldn't expect from professionals, which made us wonder if they'd ever done anything this "big" before. They made mistakes when estimating costs like not noticing the whole ceiling was a different color and needed to be painted, and they forgot obvious tasks like painting and texturing the bathroom which increased the costs. There were problems with the scheduling, orders, and delays with the contractor work, which meant we couldn't move in on the planned date. We used the general contractor that they hired, but we were not happy with their work. We had to point out that they were far behind schedule and that everything would not be completed on time. In the end we needed to extend our lease and delay the moving and furniture delivery by two weeks, and we still had to wait a few weeks until all the construction was completed. Even though we had a very specific time frame, many items we ordered (chairs, rugs, wall mirror) arrived much later. There were a times where they didn't tell us when the contractors were coming, and they forgot to reserve the building elevator for delivering the cabinets which also delayed the work. There was almost no quality control or project management from Design Studio 15. We had to point out all the issues, even the blatantly obvious, to get them fixed. Even where they took initial measurements, the suggested items did not fit well. The daybed in the bedroom was too large and we can't use the cabinets/closet comfortably, the rug for the bathroom was too long and thick, and the planters blocked too much of the sliding door. There were other cases where we were also not happy with their recommendations. They suggested that we didn't need to smooth out the texture of one wall because it would be covered by imported wallpaper, but unfortunately the end result looks very unprofessional. We felt like we receive bad advice, like when they suggested a white fabric couch for outside without the manufacturer's suggested protective covering. In addition to these suggestions, the contractors they hired were not professional. They damaged our wooden floors and property, their paintwork was sloppy, during the counter installation they drilled ragged holes through the supporting beams, and they failed to properly smooth out the wall surfaces. On the "installation" day, the designer from DS15 showed up more than 1.5 hours late, and we (and an intern who had not seen our design plan before) had to tell the delivery company where to place the furniture. Some of the furniture and decoration items we ordered were delayed, and we had to wait for them to arrive over the next few months. Another example of where we couldn't rely on them for the execution, was when our 6 foot mirror (which needed a palette lift for transportation) was dropped off at the building reception with "door step" delivery after months without any notice or plans for installation. Instead of telling us that they needed additional consulting hours to finish the decoration and accessories (as listed in the contract), DS15 were more interested in selling us a brand new package. We declined this because there was still too much unfinished work at that time and we were unhappy with the results so far. Initially, when discussing their fees with us we discussed that we would be paying specific amounts for design and administrative work. They mentioned that they can order the furniture for us, and said that they can get designer discounts so that we'd be saving money. We realized afterwards that they added a mark-up on the items ordered for us. We feel deceived by them since they promised the opposite and this was not discussed or listed anywhere in the contract that we signed with them. They were not transparent, and they refused to provide us with the original receipts for the items and work ordered on our behalf. The last items arrived after they finished the "installation", and DS15 haven't been back or offered to come finalize the installation. The end result was that we had a lot of frustration, mistakes, poor quality work, and a half-finished job with disappointing results (a large wall with uneven imported wallpaper, a poorly smoothed out wall, and a badly installed counter-top). From what we've experienced we would not recommend hiring them.
