Not to sound cliche, but my story is. As a child, I rearranged my room all the time, and the color was changed a few times thanks to my understanding art school graduate Mother. When it came time for college, I started in the same footsteps as my brothers: engineering. I found I didn't like it at all - not at all, and therefore, I didn't do so well. Then I happened upon an Interior Design elective class, and everything changed. I loved going to class, my grades got much, much better, and I found my fit. I have found that it's true: when you find something you love to do, it doesn't feel so much like work.
After earning my BS in Interior Design, I moved to Raleigh, NC and started my design career in high end retail sales. As I had worked my way through college waitressing, I was happy to continue working with and being around people. Later, as my husband's plant nursery grew, I had the opportunity to head his sales department and learn all about plants and landscapes. Hence, the landscape design piece of my design offerings.
What do I like most about my job? My clients: mostly when they say they love the environment we have created together. My colleagues: being a member of Professional design organizations, I continue to learn and grow. The challenges: figuring out how to beautifully and creatively incorporate all the wishes and dreams of each client into their alloted space.
Recently I was asked if I have a particular design style. No, I don't. Each design is different and revolves arouond my clients, not me. Like I answered the queston, I can daydream in monochromatic mid-century just as well charmily classic.
Located in Fuquay Varina, NC, I am happy to work in the Raleigh, Cary, Morrisville, and Chapel HIll areas or even the NC coast.
