David Ke | Design Collaborative Studio (Or DK|DCS) is a professional full service architecture firm led by David Ke, Registered Architect. I am a real estate agent and investor and we do many fix and flip projects. I hired David because I knew he was a legit architect - AIA. I have come across many 'architects' in home investing, only to find that they really are not more experienced than a draftsman. Recently, I came across a hillside project in the San Rafael Hills area of Pasadena, CA. I hired David to help me design and get a bid for the project. He was super helpful to explain the process with planning and building and safety, plus he had a lot of design ideas for the homes. The designs were really progressive and cutting edge! I know that Dave is used to more challenging projects since he did mostly commercial, but hillside projects in residential are risky. I really wanted it to be done by a professional with credible bids. The current project cost about $1.5 MM, but there was not enough profit on the table for me to move forward, so I just paid him for the work done to that point. Dave really reassured me that things would be done right and that the foundation would be set properly and optimally, so we would not have future liability. You should definitely talk to David if you are thinking about any type of residential project. Highest level of recommendation!
