After meeting with several builders in the area, we selected Sallade Custom Homes. Not long after speaking with Chuck Sallade on the phone, we thought he was probably the correct person for us. After an in person meeting, our assumption was confirmed. This project for us was a 20 year dream and building from 1300 miles away was challenging. He was personable, easy to relate, and interested in OUR ideas. We wanted someone we could trust with all the design elements of a modern mountain home. Kristin (his wife) kept the books and was a pleasure to work with as well. Since our project was not a large footprint, they created an efficient use of space using both new and reclaimed materials. Chuck and his crew (Tom, Tim, Kyle, Eli and Daniel) made our project perfect. They offered suggestions and helped to create vision for this project. Both Chuck and Tom offered many alternative suggestions as we were challenged with a tightening budget. They kept waste to a minimum. The building site itself was kept in immaculate fashion. (Nothing like the normal, untidy, scattered job sites.) Chuck sent us photos when progress was made, to keep us up to date. Additionally, he allowed specialized hardware to be shipped to his office for our peace of mind. We had dreamed of building a home for over 10 years, after meeting with a lot of contractors, my husband and I met with Chuck. We could not have asked for a better person to complete our home. Even during the Covid-19 year Chuck and Tom made our dream home come to life. They were great to work with, gave plenty of ideas, honest and did great craftsmanship. My husband and I built a house from 1,300 miles away! We put a lot of trust in Sallade Custom Homes. Chuck kept us informed all through the process by sending us pictures, text messages and almost daily phone calls. When I was going over the top with some of my ideas, Chuck brought me back to earth with better suggestions/ideas to accomplish what I wanted to do at a better price point. They also did some phenomenal custom work inside our home. The fireplace mantel was done doing the Japanese method of Shou Sugi Ban, a wood burning process. Chuck Sallade went above and beyond to help my husband and I design and remodel our new facility for our mixed animal veterinary practice. He kept us informed, on track and within budget for the duration of the project. His wife Kristin did an incredible job with the fine details of the interior design. Chuck Sallade built a new home for us late 2016 and part of 2017 in Red Lodge, Mt. We got bids from 3 reputable builders and chose Chuck and his partner. I was a builder myself for many years and could tell that they had all the skills necessary for building, provided us with a detailed proposal, and I had the sense they would be very honest - and they were. We're totally happy that we chose Chuck for our project. We asked him to come back and make a couple of adjustments which he did - no problem. We would certainly use Chuck again.
