Chalet

My (now) husband and I have always loved visiting Chalet, in particular to walk through the greenhouse. We have admired the floral design for many years, and soon came to find out that one amazing woman in particular was behind the creative beauty we so enjoyed (Bonnie). When my husband asked me to be his wife and we began to plan our wedding, we both agreed that the most important element of the day, for us, was going to be the floral decor. We were both raised caring for plants with our grandparents, so luscious greenery is near and dear to both our hearts. When we approached Bonnie and asked for her assistance, neither of us could have ever imagined the extent of what we would receive. We told her the things we love about her work, showed her examples of arrangements we liked, provided a budget per piece, and then gave her complete creative freedom to execute. She spent two weeks pouring her heart and soul into creating the most magical, unique, gorgeous centerpieces, double white orchids with air plants and succulents and branches and moss. Each one was different, and yet they all worked together in perfect harmony. When we arrived to see them for the first time, we both began to cry. They were stunning. Our dream became reality right in front of our eyes! And if that wasn't enough, this story gets better. We invited Bonnie to our wedding, and although she was unable to attend, she did stop by the morning of, to see the tent set before everyone arrived. She was so thoughtful to remember that the reason we were taking our photographs at the bluff of Lake Michigan was because there is a tree planted there in memory of my deceased best friend, and we wanted to include her in our day. Bonnie left the church and went to the bluff and sent me a photo of the lake, telling me that my friend was smiling down on us on this beautiful day. It was such a heartfelt gesture, so above and beyond for Bonnie to show so much regard for us on our wedding day. Well, the day was indeed beautiful, until right after the daddy-daughter dance, when the skies opened up and poured down on our tent! The party continued with our crazy family dancing in the rain all evening long. The only bummer we came to find out, later, was that the photographer was unable to capture the centerpieces on camera before they were scooped up and out of harm's way when the storm hit. I shared this with Bonnie at a later date, never thinking much of it. A few days before Christmas, as we watched our orchids spring new buds 6 months after our wedding, my husband remarked to me how, although he was thrilled that the beauty of our centerpieces and the magic of our wedding day continued to live on in our home and the homes of our loved ones, he was so disappointed that we had no photos of them on our wedding day. The very next day, Bonnie sent me a random string of text messaged photographs of our wedding day - the tent, tables set with centerpieces, before everyone arrived. Picture perfect photographs of the amazing setting she was such a pivotal part of helping bring to fruition. My husband and I, sitting in a restaurant eating lunch, again both broke into tears. It was a Christmas miracle. Working with Bonnie at Chalet exceeded our expectations in more ways that we can explain, beyond the words contained herein. We knew she would create beautiful centerpieces for our wedding, but the level of personal care, attention, detail and kindness was far beyond what was necessary to complete the task at hand. Thank you for helping to make our wedding day the most special day of our lives!

Lovely place to shop for unique and interesting things for home and garden. Very hel[ful and knowledgeable staff. Not inexpensive, but if you are looking for something from simple (purchasing the right things for landscaping that you want to thrive, not just be sold on) to can't find anyplace else, it's worth it.

Chalet is a fantastic company, they do phenomenal work. I highly recommend them whether you are simply buying plants to plant yourself or using their landscaping services to create something very personal and beautiful.
