Bob Steele is a gifted architect who has an amazing sense of design, and an incredible ability to bring a contemporary and timeless approach to rehabilitating historic buildings. He was able to solve any problem, while providing the right blend of listening and guidance to us. Bob was completely devoted to us, was passionate about making everything perfect, and interfaced extremely well with our contractor. I cannot imagine a better experience or better result.

Bob had a vision of what our rancher could be that was beyond our imagination. He transformed our classic layout into a huge open space bringing in sunlight and new space we didn,t realize existed! He was open to tweaks that we wanted and made our contractor's job easy. An added bonus was his wife's expert advice on everything from colors to furnishings. Highly recommend

We hired BOB Architecture to help us renovate our 100+ year old home located in the Historic District of Fredericksburg Virginia. The result is pictured on this website as Princess Anne Street, but the pictures do not really show the skill and artistry which blended old and new together to transform this century old building into our treasured home. In particular, the kitchen/office addition on the back of the house is seamless to the original house to the point that most observers think it is part of the original foundation. The architects at BOB Architecture are artists and go the extra mile to ensure the project looks right. They get the big picture and the details right. We have since hired them on several other projects and always been thrilled with results

Kitty and I have found B.O.B. to be an excellent firm to work with. From our original concept drawings to final detail drawings and completion of construction. They have also been diligent about continuing to stay in touch. We were so pleased with our initial project that we are working with them again on a second project.

Having used B. O. B. on every project we have done over the past 20+ years, we did not hesitate to contact them when we decided to renovate our 20 year old kitchen. For this project we had a general idea of what we wanted; however, the B.O.B. team provided adjustments and design expertise that was invaluable. The entire kitchen was demolished and redesigned with some modern elements, while maintaining the integrity of our 1907 traditional home. Additionally, we incorporated a new built-in bar, plus moved and redesigned the powder room. For the first time we also utilized their interior design services, which were exceptional. They made the process of making numerous decisions easy. The finished product is absolutely beautiful.

Partnering with BOB Architecture was without a doubt the best decision I could have made for my home renovation. The BOB team presented a beautiful design, incorporating all my needs, including some I had not thought of, while maintaining the historic integrity of the home. But beyond that, they introduced me to a talented team of tradesmen to execute the plan. With BOB Architecture leading the way, the work was performed to the highest standards of excellence. As issues arose, they lent considerable knowledge and creativity to ensure a good solution. I was particularly happy with the guidance they provided while selecting all the finishing materials (including new furniture). Their attention to detail made all the difference. It was a pleasure to collaborate with the entire BOB Architecture team and I could not be more pleased with the end result.

For the second time, BOB Architects has fulfilled our expectations. Architectural design and craftsmanship immediately comes to mind to highlight our expectations. When the job is finished the superior design, finite workmanship all within budget projections standout. The team leader, Timmy Boggs is a pleasure to work with as are his subcontractors who are obviously selected for their known competence. The same professional competence and attitude were displayed in building our 300 square foot family room completed five years ago. If there is a third project in the future we would not hesitate to employ this firm. We are confident to recommend this group to anyone.

I had a great experience working with BOB Architecture on my custom residence in Asheville. I worked extensively with Bob, Terry and Robin. I have nothing but extremely positive feedback for the whole team at BOB Architecture. Whether it was working through difficult local permitting issues or making on the fly adjustments and tweaks to the design they were always extremely responsive. They were also on site often before and during construction. I'm very happy with the finished product and I always get a lot of compliments on it! I would definitely use them again in the future.

We hired BOB Architecture to transform our 1906 craftsman into a modern masterpiece. From the initial design to the selection of finishes, BOB Architecture showed an attention to detail and a vision that made the finished project a work of art. We love our home.

We have had the privilege of using BOB Architecture for a number of projects. Our first project together was a mountain lodge to be used by my extended family for holidays. Although I came into the relationship with a very specific vision in mind, during our first meeting Bob started us at the beginning. During the design process Bob heard many of the needs that I had not realized nor articulated. From design sessions to site visits to interactions with the builder, Bob helped me see a different view of the lodge, one that built upon the natural geography and history of the area. He pushed me when needed, yet was always willing to see a different side. He then partnered with the general contractor throughout the entire build to be sure the end product was true to our vision. His passion during this process earned my trust. Since then we have collaborated on a total five projects, from renovations and additions to adapting an historic log cabin. I highly recommend Bob and his company!

We hired BOB for an addition/renovation project on our weekend retreat house located 2 hours from our home. They were amazing as they transformed our one bedroom cabin into a beautiful 4 bedroom dream home. I cant say enough good things about how the entire team really listened to us , discussed issues and options, addressed every detail with us and the builder, and made our dream a reality. They made the entire experience as stress free as possible for us because we knew they were so conscientious. Bottom Line: They exceeded our grandest expectations and do stellar work!
