For 15 years I stared at my dated kitchen dreaming of a remodel. Despite my efforts, I just couldn't find the right person. But finally I found Barbara after touring a home which she had beautifully remodeled. What good fortune! Barbara was a joy to work with, energetic, fun and patient. From our first meeting to the last cabinet pull, she listened to our hopes for this remodel. She is full of creativity yet was respectful of our ideas. She brought so much design sense to the project. Barbara works hard! I work full time and she met with me on my schedule, including evenings and weekends, at plumbing stores and marble yards. Barbara is the consummate professional. Her contacts in the industry and her knowledge of design, function, color, flooring, lighting and materials resulted in a fantastic space for entertaining family and friends. She kept the project on time by working closely with Royal Empire Builders and Royal Cabinetry, who did an outstanding job of constructing our dream kitchen.. We all hear of nightmare remodels, but because of Barbara, I now have a kitchen which is the perfect fusion of elegance, taste and functionality. Thanks Babs!!!

Almaden Interiors turned our vision for our 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo into a beautiful reality. We had an extensive wish list, and Barbara Vaughn and her team, Royal Empire Builders and Royal Kitchens delivered. Barbara listened to us, kept the lines of communication clear amongst us, Luis, the contractor, and Sammy, the cabinetmaker. She facilitated the building process so that the work was completed in a timely manner. She graciously stepped back and allowed DH to play his power card whenever he felt the need. Except for the bathrooms, hickory flooring was installed throughout. The kitchen was opened into the living room and dining area. A skylight was installed above the exposed ceiling beams in the kitchen. Sammy built our beautiful kitchen and master bathroom cabinets and our custom-designed wall closet. Bathtubs were removed from both bathrooms to make way for our amazing showers. Barbara designed and executed the beautiful mirror in our guest bathroom. She helped us select our appliances, fixtures and other product so we would stay on track. Although occasionally we had seen the work in progress, the final product was absolutely stunning. Even after having lived in our remodeled home for almost six months, we still marvel at the design, workmanship and beauty. Thank you Barbara, Luis and Sammy.

Barbara took on the task of renovating our kitchen/living room area. We spent a lot of time brainstorming the right approach and had some pretty unique ideas around what we wanted including a 2 sided fireplace between the inside living room and outside patio and a multi-tasking island that allowed us to eat dinner as a family but also served as a great entertaining space. She was open to our ideas and deftly managed the project from inception to the very final details. She also managed self individual contractors and acted as a GC for our overall project. She was also able to source great materials from great wholesalers. I would recommend her to anyone needed general directional opinions through full tear down and re-build of their space.

In April of 2014 we purchased a 25-year-old home In Lafayette CA., which had great bones but needed updating. Barbara had helped us with redecorating a prior home. We had loved her work and in the process she became a dear friend. So we naturally asked Barbara to work with us. The update included a major remodel of the kitchen and master bathroom and general updating throughout all the interior rooms and exterior paint palette. Barbara has great taste, creative ideas and is easy to work with. She had a good balance between listening and advocating in finding the best decisions as the remodel process moved along. In addition she has a team of contractors who are easy to work with and do a high quality job. We give Barbara our highest recommendation – she is GREAT.

Barbara helped us select new hard wood flooring for our entire house and helped us select a new lighting design for our family room. Both projects were fairly challenging, but Barbara did a great job of guiding us effortlessly thru the process and ensured that projects stayed on time and on budget - my wife and I wholeheartedly recommend Barbara for large or small Interior Design projects.

We were extremely pleased with the outcome of our last home Barbara helped us with, which was a major renovation. We hired her again to help us with our new home! Some of the things I have learned from working with Barbara is she has an amazing eye for detail, design, color, style and space planning/design. Barbara has once again, given us amazing results! She designed our custom pantry, bar cabinets, entertainment center and gaming credenza. We renovated our 2 powder rooms, master bath and the kid's Jack and Jill bathroom. Everything turned out beautifully. Barbara is top notch! We love her creativity, energy and how methodical she is! Barbara went above and beyond when she knew I was entertaining on the weekend nearing the end of our project. She made sure the contractor stayed on scheduled so it would be completed. She spent her Saturday shopping to help me find accent pieces, art, towels and accessories to complete our new look for our party. Now that is 5 star service!! We will continue to use her on all our future projects!

We were well into our kitchen remodel, but when it came to choosing granite, paint colors, and tile for the backsplash we weren't sure what combinations would look good. We were going crazy looking at pictures, trying to imagine what they would look like in our kitchen space, then a friend suggested that we call Barbara at Almaden Interiors. Barbara was amazing! She listened to our concerns and assessed what colors and styles were already in the house. I took her to the granite yard to show her what we had already picked out, which turned out to be not a very good choice. She found us the perfect granite that day, and in days that followed, she helped us with tile and paint colors. She is very easy to work with and has a great eye for color and design. We are very happy with the results. If we ever do another remodel, we'll have Barbara there from the beginning.

Barbara designed and managed the entire remodel of my kitchen. Her attention to detail and ability to manage the sub-contractors was awesome. Knowing that she was on the job allowed me the time that I needed to do my own work. The results were custom and none of the details were omitted. Barbara also designed a custom wardrobe cabinet with wonderful details and a beautiful finish that I could not have found anywhere else. It is the focal point in the entire room.

Barbara Vaughn was introduced to us through our contractor during the planning stages of our master suite remodel. She came in with fresh ideas and solutions to some challenging situations. Barbara listens to and understands what our likes and concerns are. She has a very keen eye for detail and follows through to perfection. We hired Barbara again for our kitchen and family room remodel. She came in with insight and design ideas creating a beautiful, yet functional kitchen opening up into a warm and comfortable family room. Barbara worked with us through every detail of our project including appliances, counter tops, cabinets, hardware, fixtures, lighting, flooring, paint color and more. She's always a pleasure to work with and we would highly recommend Barbara to anyone seeking interior design. Once again, we called upon Barbara to help us with our remaining 3 bathrooms remodel. She worked with us from the design phase through completion. Barbara is very skillful in recognizing what our likes are and blending them into the style of the rest of the house. She took 3 very dated rooms (2 full baths and 1 powder room) and brought them up to date with beautiful cabinetry and fixtures. We are very pleased with the results of Barbara's work and will continue to work with in the future.

Barbara Vaughn of Almaden Interiors provided valuable interior design guidance and assistance from beginning to end of our new home construction project. Initially, she offered design ideas and suggestions during the preliminary planning phases. During construction, she developed a color palette and assisted in the selection of surface materials, hardwood flooring, carpet, tile, granite, plumbing fixtures, lighting fixtures, cabinet hardware, and window coverings. Barbara assisted the design and fabrication of custom furniture throughout the house, suggesting styles, colors and textures that complemented all other design aspects of the home. Finally, she helped locate appropriate artwork and accessories that added sophisticated eye-catching details to the interior spaces. It has been a pleasure working with Barbara Vaughn, and we would highly recommend her to anyone seeking help with their interior designs.
