Blue Aspen did a lot of work on our yard for us, including patio paving stone installation, along with a dividing wall in our front yard; a large deck in our back yard, and installation of new sod and border trim in our back yard. They were very professional and very willing to work with us to ensure we were happy with the results. We are extremely pleased with everything they did for us, and we would highly recommend them.

When we decided to re-landscape and modernize our 70’s backyard, we hired Blue Aspen Contracting Inc. Dean, and his dream team, gave us excellent customer service. They are hard working, polite, respectful, and took the time to explain everything. We admired the precision of their work, and their landscape design ideas are beyond compare. They definitely exceeded all of our expectations and we are very happy with the entire process and results. The transformation of our backyard project was very impressive. The plants, trees, colours, lighting, boulder rock retaining walls, large paved designer patio, gorgeous mountain ledge-stone planter retaining wall, matching ledge-stone gas fire pit, and composite privacy fences, all make our yard look beautiful and stunning! We have worked on 2 projects with Blue Aspen, 4 years apart. Projects included: fence, retaining wall, privacy screen, stone deck around pool, irrigation, sod, beds, plants and trees. Dean was great to work with on planning for the project and executing our vision. Had great suggestions for filling in the gaps and making a cohesive finished product. On both jobs the crews were professional, great to work with and did an excellent job. Pricing was competitive and they worked hard to finish the jobs in a reasonable time. We engaged Blue Aspen for a large scale project to re-do our back yard as well as some minor works to our front yard. After our property developer and builder messed up using the wrong rocks for the retaining wall which started breaking apart and eroding, we engaged with 3 different landscape companies. What set Blue Aspen apart was their attention to detail and design. The other landscape companies seemed to be more interested in just getting a deposit to secure your spot in line without really telling you what they will do, or they gave us a design that was really just an update of what we had. Blue Aspen worked with us until we had a design we were comfortable with before proceeding. We had to adjust to a few changes as the project went on, and like any large project there was a bit of friction. But in the end, we were able to reach compromises where necessary. The quality of their build did not disappoint! We have had a lot of compliments on the look of our yard. Blue Aspen knew how important it was for us to get the look we wanted and they delivered.

After considering a number of contractors to build our limestone patio (complete with Hot tub area), we chose to go with Blue Aspen. Their pricing was competitive, their reviews were good and they could work within our schedule. As with any construction project there were a few hiccups along the way. We appreciated the willingness and open mindedness of Dean and his team to work through them with us. Given that this was an October project and weather was a factor, we were pleased with the effort made to complete the work prior to winter setting in. The workers were a pleasure to work with. They were respectful, professional and very hard working. The finished product is gorgeous and it turned out even better than we had hoped for. We have already used our patio to gather safely with our adult children and their families and hope to be able to do so throughout the winter. We are really looking forward to spring to enjoy it even more. We would highly recommend Blue Aspen to anyone looking for a professional landscape company.

We needed to update our backyard area on our acreage and contacted several contractors for ideas. We instantly felt that Dean understood exactly what we were looking for. He created a design perfectly suited to our needs which included removing old sidewalks, a poorly designed deck and walkout area by creating a fantastic new deck which flowed beautifully into a large patio and walk out area. It was even better than we could have imagined. Dean was excellent at suggesting design ideas based on his expertise and he was very cost sensitive. We found Dean and his crew took immense pride in their work, were extremely reliable and hard working. They created a fabulous outdoor space for us which we have enjoyed already and will enjoy for many years to come. They were on time and on budget and we would highly recommend Blue Aspen for any outdoor project you might be considering.

We were extremely happy with the landscaping services Blue Aspen Contracting provided. When we first met with Dean for a consult which was back in November he was prompt in getting the quote, courteous, and reliable throughout the process. The timeline to complete was reasonable, Our whole backyard had nothing but grass and we knew it was going to take guidance from a professional landscaper. Several trees, shrubs, perennials, patio, planter, pergola with electrical, irrigation and lighting were installed to complete our yard. Thanks Dean and crew for all your hard work to make it happen! Highly recommend Dean and his team at Blue Aspen! My partner and I bought a newly renovated 1960s bungalow that was beautiful in every way except the backyard, which was a real mess with old concrete pathways, a giant muddy patch where a deck once existed, and grading issues. We gave Dean our list of must haves, nice to haves, and must not haves, and a few examples of things/styles we liked. Within a couple of weeks Dean provided us with a plan for the backyard. We altered only a few small details, which Dean was happy to accommodate. The work was completed on time, on budget, and is of high quality. Dean’s work crews were professional: they worked consistent, solid days, were polite, and seemed quite happy to be doing the work. We also worked with one of Dean’s subcontractors, who designed and built a pergola in our yard, and he was also excellent. We absolutely LOVE our beautiful backyard and are so happy that we chose Blue Aspen to complete the work, from design to execution. Can’t say enough good things!

Would highly recommend Blue Aspen for anyone looking for a reliable landscaper in Calgary. Dean came recommended from a relative and did not disappoint. We built a new home and met with a few landscapers to decide who to trust for our project. Before meeting Dean we received a quote from a different company in Calgary. We were surprised at the high price quoted from this company. After meeting with Dean he was able to deliver the same services, but for more than $10,000 less. Blue Aspen delivered on all of their promises on time and with excellent quality. The overall experience was pain-free.

After interviewing and speaking with several landscaping companies in Calgary this past summer, we decided to hire Blue Aspen for our home landscaping. Their quote was quite reasonable compared to what we got from other companies - some of whom quoted us anywhere from 45 to 100% more than what Dean quoted us for the exact same work... Dean and his team managed to get the work done in the time frame that was specified and with a quality of work and finish that we are very happy with. Blue Aspen was very accommodating to our choices and even when we made some adjustments post initial quote, there was no fuss or problem making adjustments. Definitely recommend them to anyone considering to get landscaping done professionally and at a reasonable price.

I moved into a new build and did not have any landscaping done by the builder besides a final grade. Blue Aspen gave me a quote based on my ideas and throughout the job they were able to provide some cool ideas and tips that would work well for my yard which sloped back to front. They worked hard even though there were days in the 30's and were able to complete the project on time and on budget. They were flexible with my ideas as the project went on and surpassed my expectations with the final product. There have been a couple minor fixes required after the project was finished by Dean and his crew were able to address the problems quickly.

We have hired Blue Aspen to do landscaping in our garden in the late spring 2014. It was not a full garden-size job, but it was quite extensive and involved building a pergola and a fireplace. They started early, as promised, but then got delayed by heavy rainfall and subsequent flooding in the backyard. Then the providers of the fireplace parts have stopped production of the particular fireplace parts we wanted, that caused substantial deviation from the estimate and also some more delays. I think this is just the nature of the process and delays are unavoidable, as well as the final invoice being higher than the estimate. Other than that, the Blue Aspen guys were courteous, worked hard and long days and once, started, did a good job, especially with the stonework. Our neighbors liked it that in the beginning Blue Aspen guys went around and warned everybody they would take space in the cul-de-sac to store some materials. I would also commend on the communication with the customers - Dean Semeniuk informed us of the progress regularly and of issues as they appeared. All in all, I recommend this company for hire.

After reviewing 4 different Landscaping companies we made our decision to hire Dean and his crew from Blue Aspen. We are pretty savvy when it comes to landscaping, having tackled projects at each one of our previous 4 residences. The deciding factor was that we believed that Dean was listening to us when we explained the concept and plan. We also believed his estimated costs was much more in line with the scope of our project than the other companies. We were very pleased with the process and the the outcome. We very much enjoyed the crew who were respectful and a pleasure to work with. If there was any question as to details they throughly discussed options with us and only proceeded when it was absolutely clear. The ownership in the finished product was clearly demonstrated throughout the project. Oh ya, on budget.!!!!!....that is not something that we rarely see from any contractor in Calgary. We had no problem writing the cheque for an excellent job from all aspects. Highly recommend Blue Aspen.

I had a terrible experience with contractors when I redid my kitchen in the winter, so I was a bit apprehensive when I started he back yard renovation. However, this experience was a completely different experience. The team showed up, on time, everyday and they were in and out in a couple of weeks. The quality of the work is amazing and they were very patient with my many questions and they gave great advice on what changes I could make. The budget never grew, except for the few changes that I requested, and the job site with neat and tidy every time they left. I was very impressed with Blue Aspen and would highly recommend them.

Did a complete yard landscape on our new built home in June 2014. Included excavation, stone retaining wall including stone stairway, large patio areas with stone pavers, lots of bark mulch areas, chain link fence and custon built cedar archway and gate. Completed our place as well as our neighbour at the same time. Communication was quite good, price was very reasonable, they showed up with a crew of 3 to 6 each day as needed and completed the project in the time frame they said they would. I have recommended Blue Aspen to friends and clients alike and will work with them again should I ever choose to make any changes.
