We are extremely happy with our retractable roofing system. Richard and Steve worked tirelessly to instal in just one day. They were conscientious and friendly at all times, nothing was too much trouble. And they cleaned up after. Beatrice has been very helpful and prompt with her emails. Their casual friendliness made Beatrice and Richard very easy to work with. The pergola has given us a whole new room on the house.

Our retractable roof, originally installed by Aalta some 13 years ago, requires partial or complete replacement. Richard came for an emergency repair and promised a quote for the full job within days. Called him a week later and he was 'awaiting response from his supplier'. Called him 2 weeks later and he promised quote was on the way. Called him again a week later when he turned the job down as he was 'too busy' with other jobs. So, left us dangling for weeks whilst we have a potentially dangerous situation in a family home only to reneg on his word in the end. Not very trustworthy to say the least.

We contacted several companies to come up with a solution to give our outdoor dining area shade in summer whilst still letting the sun through in the colder months. The area to be covered has a vergola on one side and a timber screen on the other. Aalta was the only company who were able to use the existing structures (thus not cluttering the area more) to construct a retractable awning which blends in beautifully (colour/materials). It gives us the shade we need in summer and folds back (to being almost invisible) when we don't need it. From the first meeting with Alison, to Richard who installed the shade, everything went smoothly and according to plan. They were extremely professional at all times and answered all our questions, erasing any concerns we might have had. We've now had this shade for 12 months and couldn't be happier. We would not hesitate to recommend Aalta.
