Baxter Projects, founded in 2014 by Kevin Baxter and based in Brooklyn NY, is a full service modern architecture firm dedicated to working closely with our clients to discover unique solutions that are both aspirational and practical. We have a simple design philosophy: architecture is generated from a conversation with our clients. We maintain one overriding goal: simplicity. We work with the basics: Space and Light. With over 20 years of experience, we have acquired a wide spectrum of talents and skills in every aspect of design and construction, from architectural design through construction administration, our unique range of skills allow us to execute meaningful projects that are distinctly rooted in place and celebrate our clients highest aspirations.

Kevin was highly recommended to help us with an almost impossible assignment - integrate a 1500 square foot 2 bedroom/2 bathroom apartment into the ground floor of a duplex completed 18 years earlier and make it look seamless! He accomplished this by carrying through key design features and elements from the original construction while reimagining and updating them, and the result is the entire ground floor looks fresh and new. I can’t tell you how amazing the apartment is - it’s calm and quiet and grounding and exactly what I needed to figure out how to navigate a new phase in life. That’s a lot to put on an apartment!!!

Kevin Baxter conferred with me on my anticipated renovation. I was very impressed with his willingness to advise me. Before he was actually hired, he did research, made site surveys and consulted with me on design and finance, adding corrections and taste judgments to my plans. He is obviously a willing and passionate professional. His input and the shared vision we developed was invaluable to me.

I hired Baxter Projects to help me plan and concept renovations to my 1972 modernist home in the Sterling Forest of Tuxedo New York. Kevin made several trips to the house to understand the landscape and work through updates that would help to secure the home for the future and not detract from the original architects vision. He is very thoughtful and design driven, which was exactly what I was looking for. I look forward to working with Baxter Projects as my home evolves.

Kevin designed my bathroom and I am very pleased with it. He listened to my design preferences and through a number of revisions we landed on something that I liked very much. He worked with the contractor and the woodworker on the design and execution and reviewed their submissions. He assisted with the value engineering (there wasn't much to squeeze), and visited the site during construction. I got the contractors and subs. See the photos.
