We recently completed a large hardscape project with Apex. Throughout the entire process they have been great to work with. What stands out is their communication, and workmanship. From the design phase, with incredible visualizations and collaboration for the space to the permit process, and discussions throughout the project. We felt confident with the team. Then, watching the everything come together and the hardwork put in was great. The team was on time, cleaned up after themselves, and did an incredible job. I found Apex doing a Houzz search, and was contacted by Mike Burkland, the architect, the next day. Mike is an extremely professional, creative, responsive individual. I knew from meeting him I wanted him to design and bring to life our backyard project. I met with three other local landscape architect's, NONE of which were as responsive or creative as Mike with Apex. From answering the 100's of questions my husband and I threw at him, to helping us with recommendations, he was truly amazing!! He introduced us to Uriel, who was Supervising the project itself, and we loved him too! Very professional, always on time, and was agile when we changed our mind or added scope to the project as it went along. Uriel's team was always kind, on time and cleaned up the project area before leaving each day. We will be loyal customers of Apex for life as a direct result of the work and responsiveness of Uriel, Mike and team.

Apex has been a great company to work with from start to finish during our landscape project! Our designer, Dave, listened to our needs and concerns regarding our property and developed a plan that addressed every issue. He was budget conscience without skimping on design or quality. Dave was open to our suggestions and also repurposed materials when possible. The installation crew went above and beyond in their attention to detail! From proper spacing of plants and shrubs to tying in new works materials into existing. We appreciate the ENTIRE team that made our project become a reality!

We used Apex for a relatively large hardscape and sod project following a major renovation in 2019. Their pricing was on the range from competitive to good. They did a very good job on all aspects of the project. The project managers were also excellent about keeping us posted on the status and progress of the job.

We engaged Apex Landscaping, Inc. to update/beautify our front yard and to transform our swampy backyard into a functional space for our kids to play and our family/guests of all ages to enjoy. We are very happy with the process and results, and many neighbors and friends have asked us to connect them with Apex for their own projects. We know how important user reviews can be for homeowners looking to invest wisely in home projects, so normally I would do a pros/cons review to be as helpful as possible. With this review, however, I truly can’t think of any cons worth sharing, so instead here is my top 10 list of great qualities that Apex brings to the table. 1.Design - Initial design process is unique in that Apex creates multi-dimensional full color plans of your space and sits down with you to go over the concepts, then updates based on your feedback. This works so well for people who need some visual help getting their heads around what a project will ultimately look like. 2.Expertise – Our project included some yard water drainage issues and some challenging conditions for garden life. Our team was knowledgeable and so far the solutions they proposed have been operating almost flawlessly. Any plantlife that didn’t take was addressed. We are so grateful to now have a yard our family can enjoy without having to wear rain boots in the backyard mud 12 months/year. 3.Speed – We put the pressure on to complete our project before a pre-planned event, which was no small undertaking and despite one of the rainiest Junes on record, they got it done. 4.Flexibility – The team has been happy to bend with our family’s evolving needs and ideas. Whatever we throw at them they never seem to mind helping to find a solution that works, even if it veers from our original plan. They also understood our interest in finding the most cost effective options for our needs and were supportive when that meant bringing in some premade builds or doing a few of the smaller items ourselves, vs having Apex do every element from scratch, which we appreciated. In addition my husband had limited hours during which he could meet with Apex contacts and team members consistently offered up late evening hours, early morning hours or weekends to meet with us. 5.Integration – The project management and ground teams worked seamlessly with outside teams (sprinkler company, contractor re-building a 2nd hand kids playset, contractor building deck within the landscape project, fence builders, etc.) 6.Sense of Urgency – Project managers and ground crews alike are quick and efficient. Communication with project leads is stress free. In my experience it is rare to find such customer service oriented team members who respond within minutes to our every call/text/email. 7.Integrity – All team members at all levels showed up when they said they would and did what they said they would do. How refreshing for a team to deliver on all their promises. 8.Personality – These guys are pleasant and were kind to our kids who probably got in their way more than once. They are just nice people, and it was fun meeting with them and having them around when working on our projects. We worked most closely with Mike Burkland for design/oversight and Uriel for on-site project management. Definitely request them both! 9.Professionalism – The ground crew respected our property and that we were living there while they were working. At the end of every workday their tools were put away safely and messes were cleaned up and any hazard zones were taped off. 10.Sustainability – Not only did the team come in with great ideas at the onset of the work, but throughout the project they presented new ideas as appropriate, were flexible to adjust to things that weren’t working or new ideas we brought to the table ourselves, and importantly they didn’t disappear when the core project ended. They have been available and responsive for follow-up questions/needs and continue to bring current/future ideas to us.

It is fair to say there was a wide range of competency that became obvious as we quoted our patio project. That being said, I was thoroughly impressed by the the discussion of the project with Apex Landscaping and therefore, awarded them the work. With the job now complete, I could not be more pleased with the outcome. Mike, Uriel and the crew did a fantastic job and were in regular contact with me in regards to any questions, challenges or improvement suggestions. If a landscape project is in your future plans, I would absolutely give Apex strong consideration. Their expertise is really in the top tier of any landscaper I have ever experienced.

We could not have been happier with the work that Apex Landscaping did on our new construction home. Mike and team, including the crews, provide top-notch service, deliver top-quality product and care about their customers. The bluestone patios, driveway designs, outdoor lighting, plantings/beds were designed to fit our new home and blend perfectly with the surrounding neighborhood. The team was professtional, hardworking and clean. Mike was great to work with and listened well and worked hard to give us a great end result. The computer renditions were helpful to see what the end result would look like and it also gave us other ideas that we decided to incorporate into the design. We love our new patio and plants!

Mike Burkland and his crew designed and delivered a lovely curving bluestone patio, front walkway and stone-bordered driveway in a project that spanned fall and spring. Mike provides high-resolution digital designs so we could align on expectations and refinements. His crew shows up when they say they will and work quickly yet carefully. They had a consistent crew throughout the project who cleaned up daily. They inspect and perfect their own work. And they delivered the project on time for us — and our neighbors — to enjoy the new view all summer and for years to come. We recommend Apex highly to all neighbors who stop to ask who was behind this vast improvement.

Apex Landscaping did a great job helping me design our new patio and fire pit. They were professional and made some great suggestions to get the patio looking really beautiful. The work crew was amazing and took great care placing the pavers, blue stone and surface stone. They really knew what they were doing. We are very please with the end result and have been enjoying our patio very much. Mike Burkland was our designer and he was always available for questions and returned our calls promptly and was onsite to be sure the job was getting done correctly.
