Amy helped us design our bathroom remodel/extension from half way across the country! She had seen the original bathroom at some point before, but we mostly sent pictures and measurements and she did the layout, elevations, and floor plan from that. This helped my contractors turn my main floor half bath into an ADA 3/4 bathroom for my elderly father. It turned out beautiful. I didn't realize how many little details are involved with such a project, but the plans really helped everyone remember. The stuff that we forgot (us, the contractors, sub-contractors, really everyone) were minor things we changed or added (door hardware color, an overhead light fixture, etc) to the plan mid-stream and then had to correct when we realized. I highly recommend having Amy do a plan. The contractors posted it on the wall right next to the permit so we were all on the same page on what needed to be done and where it would all fit. It was a lifesaver on getting everything the way we wanted it.

We worked with Amy and Beth to design a sleek, bright, modern bedroom for our 13-year-old son. Amy and Beth understood our vision, paid attention to each detail, and were so pleasant and easy to work with. The design incorporates our son's interests, and the mixture of materials and textures is really appealing. The room manages to feel warm and cozy while still being bright and modern. Our son is now thoroughly enjoying his space, and it will undoubtedly work for him throughout his teenage years.

Designing and decorating our home with Amy Yin was a complete pleasure. She was extremely attentive to our lifestyle, needs, wants and especially our budget. She was very transparent and thorough in articulating her design plan, and sincere in achieving our goals. We never felt pressured or confused trying to understand the design process. Amy knew what size ceiling lights to get and was able to give good suggestions on placement and lights that would fit into the design of the room. She also had good cost-effective suggestions for minor changes to change the fireplace I didn't like in the living room and how to modernize the den. She was able to grasp the personal size.

It was a pleasure working with Amy Yin Interiors, LLC over the past year to transform my house into an inviting, warm space. When I was looking for a designer, I was concerned that I might agree to work with someone who would not understand my tastes and who would not appreciate how to balance the differing design preferences that my husband and I have. Amy handled that so well -- we did our part by getting on Houzz to show Amy examples of what we liked and by going through magazines to clip pictures for her. With minimal time and effort on our side, Amy was able to pick up on what would be right for us. She had some immediate suggestions when we first met about how to start improving our space and she followed through on all of it, even though it was a lengthy process that had to occur in stages due to the number of other changes we were making to our house at the same time (not design-related). Amy Yin Interiors will be your partner, taking you through all the necessary steps that need to occur as you rework your home. Amy has expansive knowledge about everything that is related to interior design and has extensive connections in the field. She's a valuable resource to have on your side. Amy is serious about working within any budget and is honest about taking measures to stay within her client's budget guidelines. I am proud of this home now, and that makes me feel so at peace and happy! Previously, I felt I was living in a house that wasn't really my own. I didn't exactly agree with the previous owner's design choices and wasn't satisfied with the way we'd attempted to decorate some rooms. The biggest personal benefit of choosing Amy and her delightful team is that I feel comfortable here -- this is *our* space now. We had been living in our house for 5 years, but with two small kids, had not had the time or energy to focus our efforts on making it a home. Enter Amy and her staff. They are professional and easy to work with from beginning to end, with whatever your budget may be. Her recommendations on paint colors, window treatments, furniture arrangement, even where to place paintings on our walls were spot on. It's amazing how some of these changes were small, yet managed to bring a flow to our home that was not there prior. I would recommend Amy Yin Interiors to anyone who is hesitant in working with an interior designer because she and her staff are so helpful. They take your worries and opinions into consideration, but also offer up expert advice that is useful. We couldn't be happier with the changes we've made to our house!

It was wonderful working with Amy and her team. They helped us transform our family room into a light, bright space that is comfortable for everyone. Our new living room also feels elegant and gives us the room we need for piano lessons, reading, and entertaining. They came in on budget and found family-friendly fabrics for our home. One of my biggest concerns I had at the start of the project was buying a sofa that I would feel comfortable sitting in. Amy met me at the store and made me sit down in various styles of sofas until she got a good idea of what I liked. At the end, we are so happy with the results and look forward to having them back to remodel our kitchen

We are building our house in another state, so selecting everything from fixtures to flooring, during multiple house building trips over a year’s time can be overwhelming. However, during this time, Amy Yin has been the perfect mentor for ideas and decision-making. Working with our house plans, she guided us with fixtures, finishes, furniture placement, and paint selection. As the pieces came together, her advice helped me to make tweaks to selections, ensuring the cohesiveness of our home. One of the best things about working with Amy was that she listened to what we wanted to achieve and most importantly, educated, which carried us through the house-building journey. She helped me understand which items should be in the same finish and when to mix it up. When weighing several lighting options for sconces and a chandelier for our guest bath, I presented Amy with my dilemma. She gave me the perfect advice, telling me that the fixtures should have the same finish but not come from the same collection. I should think of the lighting fixtures in a room as “cousins,” not “twins” which really helped me to avoid being too matchy-matchy, yielding a more custom look for my selections. It is a true pleasure working with Amy Yin Interiors.

We used Amy for a re-design of our 1st floor (except for kitchen), including new dining room, family room, sitting room and main foyer. We wanted a designer that listened to our likes/dislikes but that also was able to suggest ideas/designs that we would not select on our own. She did just that, and worked with us at each step to make sure we would love the final results. And that we do, it feels like new 1st floor and her ideas work beautifully and fit our personalities very well. I would and have recommended Amy to others.

After 45 years in the business, I have worked with many designers throughout NJ and NYC. It is refreshing to work with someone who knows what she's doing. She understands the limits of different types of products and knows which products are best suited for certain applications. If problems arise, as they sometimes do, Amy works with her contractors to find solutions in a professional way. She is focused on getting great results for her clients and designs spaces to which we have said "we have never seen anyone do this before." (Over the years, we've seen a lot of designs -- good and bad.) Her rooms are well-designed and most importantly -- her clients are very, very happy.

Amy Yin did a fantastic job decorating our family room. This was my first time working with a designer and it was a great experience. Amy asked us a lot of questions about how we wanted to use the space and what our tastes were. She really listened to us, but also pushed us out of our usual comfort zone and made us think of other options. The end result was a beautiful, cohesive (yet family-friendly!) family room. Our budget wasn't huge, but Amy worked with it and even came up with some creative ways to save money. I would definitely recommend Amy Yin Interiors to anyone who wants to work with a designer whether it's for a small project or a major redesign.

I am really glad that I chose Amy to help me design our master suite. She was very quick to understand my style and picked up furnitures, which I fell in love with. Her vision in choosing a gorgeous wall paper and antiquing on the ceiling, completely changed the look and feel of the space. She has a very good understanding of fabrics and helped me choose some very rich hues. The best thing about Amy, is her eye for detail- she is very meticulous and made sure everything was done just right.
