Shane Ames and Shawn Peterson team up to deliver vastly unique buildings and environments. Our design process is developed by weaving modern ideas with historical influences while attaining your wants and desires. We start with an axial design approach using line of sight, balance or symmetry and good taste, to create the feeling desired. A European background and love for extensive worldwide travel and photography, combined with a penchant for the historical details from the Ancient Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Byzantine and Renaissance architectural styles influence our designs. Combining our unique backgrounds and approach with our clients' ideas and concepts leads to a hint of elegance that emanates and is not just seen “they just feel good without knowing why”. All architectural styles including contemporary can be approached in this fashion to create a timeless and classic piece of functional architecture to view, reside or work within. We recently had the pleasure of working with Shawn Peterson and his team on a project in West Hollywood. Throughout the project Shawn was a consummate professional; calm, confident, and informative. He communicated well with the clients, contractors and designers and was well aware of all aspects of the project at all times. Most important he designed a beautiful home that's comfortable, well proportioned and nicely detailed. We hope to have more opportunities to work with Peterson Design Studio.

I have spoken to other firms and Sean and the team at PDS are second to none. From concept to completion he had a solution to make make 1926 boxed room house feel like a amazing flowing home. Shawn did a fantastic job on our remodel. My wife and I already had a pretty good job of the floor plan we wanted to create. Shawn helped us tweak these ideas. However, his biggest contribution was with all the many details that we had never considered. For example, he created a skylight over the center of the kitchen with crossing beams and a light hanging down from the middle. Details like this turned a nice house into one that we love.

Commented: Help! Cherry Wood Kitchen Cabinets !I'd try replacing the light bulbs first and seeing if a less yellow color helps brighten the kitchen. Look for something in the 4000k range. Much cheaper option and might make you very happy!
