Ambient Bamboo Floors

We purchased 1600 sq. ft. of the natural bamboo, solid strand flooring in March to install in our new home that was in the process of being built at the time. We followed installation instructions to a tee and my brother-in-law and I installed the floor taking about a week to complete. I had previous experience on an oak tongue and groove nail down floor but this was the first glue down floor either of us had attempted. A couple of things stood out to me. First, I was very impressed with the quality and consistency of each board. Ninety nine percent of the boards were straight as an arrow and the few that weren’t we were able to utilize, either by cutting and using as starters or finishers at either end of the run or by just including the board in the middle of the room and consistently tightening them using a mallot and hold down tape. Second, the finish is extremely durable and pleasing to the eye and the solid strand construction leaves the board hard as a rock. I have accidentally dropped heavy tools on the finished floor without producing a mark. We are very pleased with all aspects of our purchase. The sales people were extremely helpful with product selection, tools, the right type of glue and general advice. They also reimbursed us for six boxes that had forklift damage prior to our receiving them. I highly recommend both the company and this product.

(Posted review under products in error) I purchased their eucalyptus flooring in July for a kitchen remodel. Prior to my purchase I learned about this company from a home expo where they provided samples of their flooring products. No matter how many other flooring companies I looked at, they had the best looking flooring of this material. The staff is very helpful and quite knowledgeable about their products. They were helpful when I ordered a box to pick up, then later when I ordered the cafe brown planks for my remodel. Delivery was easy, but note the boxes are heavy you will need assistance getting them from the sidewalk into your home. Opening boxes so the wood could acclimate (I had 11 boxes) was easy. My contractor was not familiar with installing this material, but after some nudging and reassuring that the staff was helpful, he did finally talk to them and determined it was in our best interest to install based on their recommended blades and nailer. The floors look great, I also had them installed on a step down into my family room replacing the awful carpet. I was afraid the color I picked would be too dark with the brown cabinets but the stain and wood has enough variance and depth that they look just fine. The transition to/from my oak flooring is seamless even though there is a great difference in the color and side of planks. I love the flooring and am thinking of installing in the adjacent family room.

Ambient Bamboo flooring is the only flooring I would choose. Easy installation on my strand click lock sold me on Ambient! From our first phone call to the last piece of trim installed Ambient was there to answer any questions we had and gave us a great price. Can't wait to get rid of the rest of my carpet and install more bamboo.

I LOVE this Ambient (engineered) Bamboo floor!!! I was the unlucky purchaser of a Lumber Liquidators laminate floor that was one of those with the excessive formaldehyde problem. I had been pretty unhappy with the floor even before the formaldehyde problem due the difficulty in upkeep/cleaning. This Ambient floor has been down about 30 days and it is a DREAM to maintain, and shows no scratches!!

I've purchased flooring for my entire house from Ambient 7 years ago, and I'm using them again for another renovation, not just for their superior product, but for their expertise and unmatched customer service.

Purchase low VOC natural strand bamboo click-lock floor for the whole house. Excellent help from company and sales person . Ask for Will. Got many compliments for my new bamboo floor. The surface feels wonderful - almost silky. The color is beautiful. It feels strong and sturdy. Easy problem-free installation.

I searched high and low for wood floors, nearly to the point of alienating the love of my life, who nevertheless stood by stoically as I searched for the perfect wood floor at a price I could afford. Save yourself the time I spent and just buy from these helpful folks. I'm not sure if it is a family business or not, but it sure operates as one. I was looking for a floor that: -was sustainably harvested or, at a minimum, made of bamboo; -was wide plank; -pet-friendly; and -low-VOC; I spoke to Will, who answered all my questions and then sent me a box with samples. I chose the Strand Cinnamon Wide Plank. It was marginally cheaper than the other alternatives and has a nice rich hue that made it the right choice for my dark house. If I ever do it again in a lighter house, I might spring the extra few cents for the Sangria or the Acacia. My project is still not done (installing it myself) and I've had to reach out to the company again because I may not have bought enough. They asked me to send a sample of my flooring so that they could match the color to new lots in case I needed to buy more. It was this recent display of helpfulness that prompted me to submit this review and another on yelp. Great company, great floor.

I have used various strand woven bamboo flooring products from Ambient for 3 significant projects over the last 6 years. The material is top-quality, the Ambient guys are super knowledgable, and I have had nothing but positive experiences. On my two most recent projects, I used the strand woven, carbonized, antiqued product and it looks amazing. Every visitor complements the material. After a year, there is some anticipated sun bleaching, but otherwise the material looks like it was installed earlier that day - it is super durable and still looks like new.

I ordered from Ambient after reading their great reviews, looking at their samples, and talking with 2 of their sales reps...Krysten and Doug. They were very professional, knowledgeable and timely in getting back with me as I needed. The flooring arrived in excellent condition. We hired a flooring professional to install our new bamboo flooring. He was so impressed with the durability of the flooring, as well as the ease of installation....boards fit well, with hardly any waste at all. Our flooring is absolutely beautiful, and we get so many compliments on it. We have a dog and 2 cats, and the flooring has not scratched or dented in any way, after a year! We just put down the same flooring in our kitchen and plan to order from Ambient for our dining room and family room. This is the best company if you're interested in good quality bamboo flooring! It has exceeded our expectations!

I ordered close to 2500 sq feet of the Rustic Strand Woven Sienna which I was able to install myself with advice and guidance from Ambient. I have 4 kids, 3 cats and 1 Labrador and the floor has resisted scratching and wear. The floor has been installed since November of 2012 and looks at good as the day it was installed. I highly recommend the product and their customer service is excellent!
