This award-winning and intimate cottage was rebuilt on the site of a deteriorating outbuilding. Doubling as a custom jewelry studio and guest retreat, the cottage’s timeless design was inspired by old National Parks rough-stone shelters that the owners had fallen in love with. A single living space boasts custom built-ins for jewelry work, a Murphy bed for overnight guests, and a stone fireplace for warmth and relaxation. This home took almost 7 years to design and build in the upstate region of SC. It is an authentic italian villa sitting on 200 acres. Bronse doors and windows imported from Italy, 12 inch plaster walls, floors from France, limestone fireplaces are some of the outstanding features of this unique home.

A limestone address column and seasonal planter invites neighbors from the public walk, and repeats the detailing on the new porch. 3” thick rock-faced bluestone coping reinforces the texture of the home and masonry.

Contemporary great room with two-story height looks out onto the water from its vast doors and windows. The fireplace extends up into the second floor, where there is a library with access from a terrace.
