Entry hallway to mid-century-modern renovation with wood ceilings, wood baseboards and trim, hardwood floors, beige walls, and built-in bookcase in Berkeley hills, California
Architect Mason Kirby Inc.
Removing a few walls opens up this little living room to the adjacent dining room, and keeps the cozy feeling without the claustrophobia. New built-in book shelves flank the fireplace, providing ample library space for window seat reading. A hanging chandelier provides light an elegant atmosphere, added to by matching pink chairs, ivory busts, and large area rugs. Dark wood furniture in the dining room adds gravity and a nice contrast to the auburn wood floors, grey walls, and white detailed moldings. This cozy retreat is in the Panhandle in San Francisco.

This kitchen as every appliance you could possibly need. This kitchen was designed to be the center of the entertainment area.

An exterior addition was added to this house to add space to the kitchen, family room, and master bedroom above. The new space incorporated a load bearing beam hidden behind columns and custom cabinetry to span the new space. Unique plumbing challenges were met with a seamless subway tile backsplash and custom depth spice storage bellow. Slide in range, open glass refrigeration, and convection microwave still met the clients updated needs. The coffered ceiling blend the new family room into the kitchen while hiding the load bearing elements. Overall the new timeless design blends with the couples existing furnishings while allowing them to entertain guests and family.
