The main focus is the island – especially the veining on the stone and this is highlighted against an otherwise neutral colour palette. At 3700mm w x 1400mm d the size of the Quartz Calacutta bench will satisfy even the larger sized families. Both hob and sink are integrated into this so all the main work areas are here with storage both front and back. The range hood has been integrated into a ceiling mounted box that seems to disappear into the ceiling. Seating is offset to one end of the island close to the cooking so visitors can be part of the experience. This is more suitable for social gatherings as you are able to face one another while sitting at the island. Along the back wall you will find the built in appliances: a convectional oven, a combination oven/microwave and a built in coffee machine. Underneath these large pull out gloss lacquered drawers house storage for pots, baking trays, appliances and cups for the coffee machine. Either side of the appliances 2 x pull out pantries to house pantry goods and crockery. If this was not enough storage, a separate walk in scullery and laundry will be able to take any overflow. The built in stainless steel butlers sink in here can be multipurpose for both the laundry or scullery. A built in ironing board and 2 x laundry hampers integrated into drawers are another surprise. Floating shelves above the benchtop allow the space to retain it’s open feel while adding to the storage factor.
