The primary suite includes a 15 foot span of windows overlooking Lake Champlain. The half wall behind the bed allows for a dressing area with privacy but maintaining sight lines to the water view. Radiant heat is laid under wide plank white oak flooring. Vertical paneling adds interest, capped in white oak to echo the window sills. There are dressers and a bench on the other side of the wall.

Wall molding was installed behind the bed to add texture and highlight the room’s symmetry. Power to a new computer nook was added, which is softened by bold striped curtains. Above all else, the homeowners wanted their bedroom to be pretty and peaceful, so we kept the design neutral and used colors we found outside on the lake for a calming effect. We loved the beige tones in the soft, striped wallpaper behind the bed and used them throughout the room on the custom oak end tables and ceiling beams. The deep blue hue of the lake inspired the built-in TV wall feature with striking brass inlays. We certainly wanted to embrace the surroundings for this design, but make no mistake—this house is more than just a cabin in the woods. We designed this lake house remodel with complete smart home functionality. The lighting, thermostat, steam shower, and more can all be controlled by our client’s phone.

At the guest bedroom entry, the varying design themes of this eclectic home are evident. A cabinet built from Indonesian boats stands to the right of the imposing barn door. High resolution digital wallpaper behind the bed depicts a palm-laden beach scene.

It seems kids grow out of spaces so quickly. This teenager wanted to transition away from her colorful, juvenile bedroom into a more peaceful, serene space she could relax and do homework in. Neutral colors, plants, and throw pillows were used to add to the Zen feel of the space. A textured wallpaper behind the bed adds a subtle, yet interesting focal point. And what teenage girl doesn't want a hanging hammock chair to chill out in?!

This large master bedroom was completely redecorated. The wallpaper behind the bed is finished in a delicate moulding painted white, to frame each side of the double drops. The large chandelier provides an elegance to the room.

Colour blocking was name of this game. We created a small loft room into a funky, colour pop bedroom. Creating blocks of dark green and orange around the room really draws your eye across the room to give the feel of more space. Not only playing with colour but also delicate touches of pattern from the small scale, light, geometric wallpaper behind the bed to the larger geometric colour pop cushions.
