Since this was an extensive addition to an existing Romanesque house it was critical that the new space flow into the existing plan and feel original to the house. We studied the period style and details of the house and selected forms, materials, and finishes that were contemporary yet derived from the colors and textures of the Romanesque period.

The grandeur of this formal living room is unmistakable. Soaring cathedral ceilings with exposed wood trusses are accented with sparkling iron and crystal chandeliers. The scrolled iron railing is detailed and delicate on the curving grand staircase. Custom draperies, artwork, lighting, furniture, and accessories round out this beautiful space.

A stone fireplace surround meets the solid sloped roof for a strong focal point in the living room. The play of smooth, large format stone with textured masonry creates interesting plays of light and texture on the bookend walls.
