Transitional Dining Room

This is what I am trying to achieve around the fire place opening but the vaulted ceiling is only on one side

This pic gave me an idea... If i cant take down the kitchen wall i could put a half wall on the far left side with a fire place facing the dining and storage in the kitchen side. on the right of that wall an island with stool height.
