This home is a modern farmhouse on the outside with an open-concept floor plan and nautical/midcentury influence on the inside! From top to bottom, this home was completely customized for the family of four with five bedrooms and 3-1/2 bathrooms spread over three levels of 3,998 sq. ft. This home is functional and utilizes the space wisely without feeling cramped. Some of the details that should be highlighted in this home include the 5” quartersawn oak floors, detailed millwork including ceiling beams, abundant natural lighting, and a cohesive color palate. Clients wanted to keep a powder room on the first floor and desired to relocate it away from kitchen and update the look. We needed to minimize the powder room footprint and tuck it into a service area instead of an open public area. We minimize the footprint and tucked the PR across from the basement stair which created a small ancillary room and buffer between the adjacent rooms. We used a small wall hung basin to make the small room feel larger by exposing more of the floor footprint. Wainscot paneling was installed to create balance, scale and contrasting finishes. The new powder room exudes simple elegance from the polished nickel hardware, rich contrast and delicate accent lighting. The space is comfortable in scale and leaves you with a sense of eloquence. This sophisticated black and white bath belongs to the clients' teenage son. He requested a masculine design with a warming towel rack and radiant heated flooring. A few gold accents provide contrast against the black cabinets and pair nicely with the matte black plumbing fixtures. A tall linen cabinet provides a handy storage area for towels and toiletries. The focal point of the room is the bold shower accent wall that provides a welcoming surprise when entering the bath from the basement hallway.
