The design of this refined mountain home is rooted in its natural surroundings. Boasting a color palette of subtle earthy grays and browns, the home is filled with natural textures balanced with sophisticated finishes and fixtures. The open floorplan ensures visibility throughout the home, preserving the fantastic views from all angles. Furnishings are of clean lines with comfortable, textured fabrics. Contemporary accents are paired with vintage and rustic accessories. To achieve the LEED for Homes Silver rating, the home includes such green features as solar thermal water heating, solar shading, low-e clad windows, Energy Star appliances, and native plant and wildlife habitat. Exterior Solar Shades filter the sun's rays from hitting the glass walls of your sunroom. This reduces the heat, light and glare while also adding privacy. Your view to the outside will still be preserved while you relax in the cooler temperatures inside your sunroom.

Ruthy, who writes at Discovery Street, has been lovingly restoring the “straight-out-of-mad-men” mid century home with shiplap walls, angular accents and an amazing wall of windows. Ruthy covered her windows with Motorized Blinds.com Signature Solar Shades in Pale Grey. The sleek shades blend perfectly with the home’s modern style, plus they block heat while allowing Ruthy to keep the light she loves. With a toddler and newborn at home, Ruthy knew she need something that was safer for kids. She added a motorized lift which eliminates all hazardous cords, and makes the shades a snap to raise and lower.
