Michael Moran/OTTO photography We took a predictable suburban spec house and transformed it into a unique home of enduring value and family-centered design. The existing footprint was expanded where it needed it most: in the family and kitchen area, creating a large square room with open views to a protected nature preserve abutting the property. An unexpected glass canopy and teak entry door are clues that what lies beyond is hardly commonplace. The design challenge was to infuse modern-day functionality and architectural quality into a spec house. Working in partnership with Gary Cruz Studio, we designed the pared down, art-filled interiors with the goal of creating comfortable, purposeful living environments. We also sought to integrate the existing pool and rear deck into the overall building design, extending the usable space outside as a screened-in porch, a dining terrace, and a seating area around a stone fire pit.

TJC completed a Paul Devon Raso remodel of the entire interior and a reading room addition to this well cared for, but dated home. The reading room was built to blend with the existing exterior by matching the cedar shake roofing, brick veneer, and wood windows and exterior doors. Lovely and timeless interior finishes created seamless transitions from room to room. In the reading room, limestone tile floors anchored the stained white oak paneling and cabinetry. New custom cabinetry was installed in the kitchen, den, and bathrooms and tied in with new molding details such as crown, wainscoting, and box beams. Hardwood floors and painting were completed throughout the house. Carrera marble counters and beautiful tile selections provided a rare elegance which brought the house up to it’s fullest potential.

Drewett Works

This Ranch Hacienda hillside estate boasts well over 13,000 square feet under roof. A loggia serves as the backbone for the design. Each space, both interior and exterior, has a direct response to the linear expression of outdoor space. The exterior materials and detailing are rustic and simple in nature. The mass and scale create drama and correspond to the vast desert skyline and adjacent majestic McDowell mountain views. Features of the house include a motor court with dual garages, a separate guest quarters, and a walk-in cooler. Silverleaf is known for its embodiment of traditional architectural styles, and this house expresses the essence of a hacienda with its communal courtyard spaces and quiet luxury. This was the first project of many designed by Architect C.P. Drewett for construction in Silverleaf, located in north Scottsdale. Project Details: Architecture | C.P. This porch features stunning views of the lake and running trails. The furniture in the space is a mix of old and new, and designer furniture and custom made furniture.
