Ombre Portee lightings, Lem chandelier

Question: what hanging lamp (custom made, of course) was chosen by one of the grandest hotels of London to light up its stairway? Yes, you guessed right, the Lem Chandelier by Ombre Portée. Available today in versions for home use, its golden (or white, if you prefer) petals bloom in a dining room or an entryway. Who is OMBRE PORTEE? A French company created in 1998, Ombre Portée designs and constructs tailor-made luminous sculptures, born out of a profound exploration of light: shadows, reflections, glimmers and gleams that dance on walls and play on ceilings. Materials are chosen for the way they clothe, filter and diffuse light, or even frame it like a jewelery setting, to create an intimate, subdued environment. What is essential to the company's founder, Eric de Dormael, is to generate images, impressions, and luminous sensations, to create poetic objects. Today, Ombre Portée produces its exquisite luminous sculptures as one-of-a-kind pieces, or in limited, numbered runs. These unique creations are made by hand with the utmost care in their atelier in the historic Saint Antoine district of Paris, where masters of the decorative arts have worked for centuries.
