A complete interior remodel of a top floor unit in a stately Pacific Heights building originally constructed in 1925. The remodel included the construction of a new elevated roof deck with a custom spiral staircase and “penthouse” connecting the unit to the outdoor space. The unit has two bedrooms, a den, two baths, a powder room, an updated living and dining area and a new open kitchen. The design highlights the dramatic views to the San Francisco Bay and the Golden Gate Bridge to the north, the views west to the Pacific Ocean and the City to the south. Finishes include custom stained wood paneling and doors throughout, engineered mahogany flooring with matching mahogany spiral stair treads. The roof deck is finished with a lava stone and ipe deck and paneling, frameless glass guardrails, a gas fire pit, irrigated planters, an artificial turf dog park and a solar heated cedar hot tub. Ranch Lite is the second iteration of Hufft Projects’ renovation of a mid-century Ranch style house. Much like its predecessor, Modern with Ranch, Ranch Lite makes strong moves to open up and liberate a once compartmentalized interior. The clients had an interest in central space in the home where all the functions could intermix. This was accomplished by demolishing the walls which created the once formal family room, living room, and kitchen. The result is an expansive and colorful interior. As a focal point, a continuous band of custom casework anchors the center of the space. It serves to function as a bar, it houses kitchen cabinets, various storage needs and contains the living space’s entertainment center.

GDG Designworks gut renovated this New York City SoHo loft.

This single family home in the Greenlake neighborhood of Seattle is a modern home with a strong emphasis on sustainability. The house includes a rainwater harvesting system that supplies the toilets and laundry with water. On-site storm water treatment, native and low maintenance plants reduce the site impact of this project. This project emphasizes the relationship between site and building by creating indoor and outdoor spaces that respond to the surrounding environment and change throughout the seasons.
