This is such a unique marble cut! These vein-cut tiles are linear and directional, unlike the typical swirled marble we're used to seeing.

An outdated 1920's kitchen in Bayside Queens was turned into a refreshed, classic and timeless space that utilized the very limited space to its maximum capacity. The cabinets were once outdated and a dark brown that made the space look even smaller. Now, they are a bright white, accompanied by white subway tile, a light quartzite countertop and brushed brass hardware throughout. What made all the difference was the use of the dark porcelain floors as a great contrast to all the white. We were also diligent to keep the hold extractor a clear glass and stainless steel.

This transitional style living space is a breath of fresh air, beginning with the open concept kitchen featuring cool white walls, bronze pendant lighting and classically elegant Calacatta Dorada Quartz countertops by Vadara. White frameless cabinets by DeWils continue the soothing, modern color palette, resulting in a kitchen that balances a rustic Spanish aesthetic with bright, modern finishes. Mission red cement tile flooring lends the space a pop of Southern California charm that flows into a stunning stairwell highlighted by terracotta tile accents that complement without overwhelming the ceiling architecture above. The bathroom is a soothing escape with relaxing white relief subway tiles offset by wooden skylights and rich accents. This 88 square foot Montclair bath is the main bathroom for the family. The 6 drawer vanity, built from reclaimed Amish barnwood from Pennsylvania, is stepped back at the sides to allow for more room at the entrance. The floating shelves in the Towel Tower are also from reclaimed wood. The CaesarStone countertop is made from 24% recycled content (crushed glass and mirror). The vintage medicine cabinet was given a fresh coat of paint. The custom tile and marble recessed niche in the bathtub provides plenty of space for the family's stuff. Lighting was improved with the addition of a wet location recessed light in the tub and a pair of wall sconces. White subway tile, accents of muted glass mosaics, Carrara marble basketweave floor tile and the water/sky colored walls and ceiling all contribute to a cheerful and calm brightness. This 1800's dairy barn was falling apart when this renovation began. It now serves as an entertaining space with two loft style bedrooms, a kitchen, storage areas, a workshop, and two car garage. Features: -Alaskan Cedar swing out carriage and entry doors pop against the traditional barn siding. -A Traeger wood pellet furnace heats the entire barn during winter months. -The entire kitchen was salvaged from another project and installed with new energy star appliances. -Antique slate chalkboards were cut into squares and used as floor tile in the upstairs bathroom. 1" thick bluestone tiles were installed on a mudjob in the downstairs hallway. -Corrugated metal ceilings were installed to help reflect light and brighten the lofted second floor. -A 14' wide fieldstone fire pit was installed in the field just off of the giant rear entertaining deck with pergola.

The restoration of an 1899 Queen Anne design, with columns and double gallery added ca. 1910 to update the house in the Colonial Revival style with sweeping front and side porches up and downstairs, and a new carriage house apartment. All the rooms and ceilings are wallpapered, original oak trim is stained, restoration of original light fixtures and replacement of missing ones, short, sheer curtains and roller shades at the windows.
