Lake House

This remodel was a difficult one as the room laid below ground level, the bottom of the windows is the height of the garden outside. We started with a high gloss bead board ceiling which reflects the flowers outside. The interior walls where all exposed stone, with pipes running all along. I pulled out the depth of the cabinets to allow for this and finished the back of the counter with a raised wood topper which had to be scribed to every stone! No upper cabinets where possible so i incorporated as many custom cabinets as possible, even to the point that the toaster was placed inside a cabinet ready to go when the client needed it. I used some existing antiques and designed a custom banquette seating area. The lake house is used by several members of this extended family and works well for all!
