Kai Interiors | Battersea Power Station

We are hugely proud to have created the reception desk for the much-anticipated refurbishment of one of London's most iconic developments, Battersea Power Station. The desk was designed by Kai Interiors to complement replicas of the building’s original Art Deco doors, which form a key part of the interior. ​The great decorators of the Deco period were renowned for creating luxurious spaces featuring rich combinations of materials. The exceptional detailing of the desk is very much in that tradition. Patinated iron to the front combines with brass-trimmed panels in two contrasting stones, to form a ziggurat design which echoes the architecture of the building. Beautiful but functional, the back of the desk, in solid beech wood, was designed to meet and conceal the rigours of a high-traffic commercial environment.
