The new kitchen is in the same location as the existing, with a slightly updated layout - we swapped the refrigerator and range locations. The existing U-shape was large enough for the new island. We also raised the ceiling height 2' in the kitchen, living and dining areas. This allowed for more storage and a lot more drama.
