Inexpensive Solution for Uneven Steps

The top step was 11 inches and the next was six inches. The long term goal was to re-do the entire front porch, but in the meantime, the homeowner's pet corgi was "high-centering" on the top step. It was also an unsafe condition for the mailman and other humans. The solution was to rip 4x4 PT lumber to different heights to make each step equal. I treated the cut side and attached the wood with polyurethane construction adhesive, which is still going strong four years later. Photo by Kate Thornton
