Wood does not necessarily mean plain panels. The elaborate floral carvings make this walnut-wood wall treatment an exquisite backdrop to the all-white furniture. The fine detailing of the accent wall takes the whole concept of a textured wall a notch higher.

    5. MDFCreate a customised 3D effect on your wall with CNC-cut MDF (medium-density fibreboard) panels. The best part about these panels is that they look like wood but are comparatively cheaper than the real thing. Here, in this image, notice how the floral detail on a long blank wall instantly lifts up the space. Finish these MDF wall panels with paint or spray it with Duco, metallic finish and so on.

Panel a wallThere are few things that evoke Indian sensibility better than traditional motifs. Seek out panels inspired by heritage architecture and have them set across a wall, or just as a border. An earthy embossed pattern like this one can be a perfect backdrop to an understated room with few complementary accents.

Carved ecstasy … or is it?Love wood but worry about its high maintenance and cost? Try 3D Medium-Density Fibreboards (MDF) or MDF jalis that can beautifully embellish bare walls. The easy-to-maintain walls look like wood and can be stained, laminated or sprayed to obtain the desired finish.

3D Medium-Density Fibreboards (MDF) or MDF jaalis have recently proven their design worth by offering an impressive range of patterns to embellish bare walls. These boards may be stained, laminated or sprayed to obtain the desired finish. This 3D wall was stained to match the colour of laminate. Printers have made way for custom-made designs of 3D boards and jaalis. Any pattern, lettering or pictures can be printed over these boards.
