House in a Beach Garden

Built on the original footprint of the previous house, House in a Beach Garden utilises the existing foundation. Bulky walls were replaced with glazed timber full height windows, opening up the house to the garden and sea and making the structure lighter. The upper floor was extended to create the deep shaded verandah below, from where one can enter the house. A layer of light movable screens is layered on the upper floor to protect the rooms from the sun, rain and peering eyes.
