A cozy balcony garden on a second floor apartment. A new living space created for all members of the family-including a 15 month old.

The arbor over the swing is intended to shade the sitting area in this hot yard as the sun comes from the left side of the swing. Evergreen Pandorea vines eventually grew over the top. The style mimicked that of the already existing pergola on the deck. The swing gives the family a resting place to watch people practicing on the putting green.

1800's farmhouse kitchen remodel in the Austin hills

The design objective for this six acre ocean view parcel in Montecito was to create a literal replication of an 1800's California hacienda. Four adobe structures define the central courtyard while secondary terraces and walled gardens expand the living areas towards the views and morning light. Simple, rustic details and traditional, handmade materials evoke a lifestyle of a distant era.

Metal planters designed by Paula Deresti Landscape Design are planted with Birch and woodland plants. Tuffa trough is planted with miniature Hosta and False Cypress everygreen. Lava rock mini garden below hanging plant tapestry all create a pleasing vinette.

Reconfiguration of a dilapidated bathroom and separate toilet in a Victorian house in Walthamstow village. The original toilet was situated straight off of the landing space and lacked any privacy as it opened onto the landing. The original bathroom was separate from the WC with the entrance at the end of the landing. To get to the rear bedroom meant passing through the bathroom which was not ideal. The layout was reconfigured to create a family bathroom which incorporated a walk-in shower where the original toilet had been and freestanding bath under a large sash window. The new bathroom is slightly slimmer than the original this is to create a short corridor leading to the rear bedroom. The ceiling was removed and the joists exposed to create the feeling of a larger space. A rooflight sits above the walk-in shower and the room is flooded with natural daylight. Hanging plants are hung from the exposed beams bringing nature and a feeling of calm tranquility into the space.
