The couple's influences come through in the most subtle of ways, even in the formal living room. "We built the house with 10' 4'' ceilings, which helped create a sense of more openness, like being outside", Gayle explains. Transom windows allow light to flood the space, while over sized furniture maintains an intimate feel. The neutral palette places emphasis on textures and materials. Lush fabrics on the sofa and armchairs contrast effortlessly with wood and blackened iron. Even though the cocktail table was a new purchase, Gayle and Gary restained the top to give it a worn look that meshes it with the rest of the rest of the wood in the room.
