Fernie Backyard - year 2. A new house was built on a former high school parking lot. The backyard required extensive excavation for the design to be successful. Beds were dug a minimum of 2 feet and filled with new soil and raised. The pathways were mulched. The fire pit area is 1/2" minus crush. A large selection of low maintenance, drought and deer resistant plants were installed.
