MOTIF Design Solutions, LLCMOTIF Design Solutions, LLC
MOTIF transformed a standard bedroom into this artful and inviting home office with the potential of being used a guest room when the occasion arises. Soft wall colors, a textured area rug, a built in desk are counterpoint to a cozy sofa bench -- which doubles as a twin bed or can be transformed into a queen bed by pulling the pieces apart and reconnecting them in another configuration. It is a surprising and unexpected room and is both functional and beautiful.

The idea for this space came from two key elements: functionality and design. Being a multi-purpose space, this room presents a beautiful workstation with black and rattan desk atop a hair on hide zebra print rug. The credenza behind the desk allows for ample storage for office supplies and linens for the stylish and comfortable white sleeper sofa. Stunning geometric wall covering, custom drapes and a black and gold light fixture add to the collected mid-century modern and contemporary feel. Photo: Zeke Ruelas

This property was transformed from an 1870s YMCA summer camp into an eclectic family home, built to last for generations. Space was made for a growing family by excavating the slope beneath and raising the ceilings above. Every new detail was made to look vintage, retaining the core essence of the site, while state of the art whole house systems ensure that it functions like 21st century home. This home was featured on the cover of ELLE Décor Magazine in April 2016. G.P. My husband added brass hairpin legs to inexpensive computer desks with laptop compartments, integrated power strips and cord cutouts. Mike Z Designs created a custom wooden box to hide the ugly in-wall AC unit. The front panel slides out to allow the unit to operate. Photo © Bethany Nauert

Inspired by the large scale art, we pulled hues to create a space reflective of whimsy and fun pops of color. The blush kipling fabric brings in a playful feminine touch. To add statement we painted the closet doors a vibrant color to add extra dimension to the room and a fun unexpected touch. Photo Credit: Amy Bartlam
