Sometimes, it’s not about how much you spend. For this Joliet IL project, the homeowner wanted an updated traditional look, on a tight budget. Koch’s ‘Express’ cabinetry was chosen, in a birch wood with a rich mid-tone stain. The door style offers great visual interest: a raised center panel in a wide, mitered frame with double-beading detail. The 5-piece drawer fronts continue the furniture feel. The cabinetry stain color coordinates beautifully with the light wood tones of the floor. The fresh and open look is carried out through the whole room, with a light and airy palette. The Formica countertops are a softly patterned neutral, complimenting the light, natural shades of the tile backsplash. The soft colors used throughout the space allow the rich tones of the cabinetry to be the star of this space. The end result is a traditional kitchen with a great updated look!
