The Work Nocturne inspired series art sits pretty on the dining wall. The contemporary twist on the Art Deco-inspired chandelier adds the dash of style to dim-lit dinner

A cozy nook, we utilised space to create a tiny but happy dining area to bring the four family members together. The geometric grey Bharat Floor tiles from the kitchen seamlessly travel here too. The high vaulted ceiling in semi circular arches, the deep grey backdrop and the white orb lights make for a wonderfully classy play of elements. The table itself is designed in house. We mounted an oval shaped grey marble slab over a wood console. Chairs are upholstered in a plush grey too. A brass clock watches over this pretty scene. The high vaulted ceiling continues into the corridor beyond which leads to the inner bedchambers of the flat. Albeit a short walk, we still managed to create a niche for storage and shelves above to display artefacts here.

The living and dining area boasts rafters finished with veneer, imparting the illusion of joists supporting the house's roof. A six-seater dining table, adorned with arched paneling, graces the dining area. The living room's main wall showcases textured paint, while a Lego-style artwork adds a touch of creativity. The centerpiece of the living and dining area is the TV wall, exhibiting veneer paneling on the lower half and a handmade Scandinavian rustic groove pattern. A subtle niche in the wall serves as a planter, enhancing the natural aesthetic.

This 28,000 private residence is located in Bicholi, an upcoming exurb of Indore (akin to what the Hamptons are to New York). The North and East Facades of the house were more open to welcome light with large floor to ceiling openings, with deep terraces to cut any glare. The South and West facades are more closed out housing services like the lift & staircase block and store and non-habitable spaces like the Kitchen, Pantry and Bathrooms. Any rooms facing south and west had large overhanging decks and cavity walls. Terracing towards the north and the east to create a comfortable environment for the infinity pool and semi-formal seating areas around it. The result is a Contemporary house with strong Indian roots, that it is Instagrammable yet livable, with Functionality and Aesthetics maintaining a fine balancing act. The dining table has a brass base which was custom designed with a marble top. The chesterfield chairs have an interesting back detail with an old school door handle which were aesthetics and functional at the same time.
