The Great Room features a wall of built-ins with antique glass cabinet doors that flank the fireplace and a coffered beamed ceiling. Wine Nook

With this semi detached house in North London we aimed to increase the existing floor area of a previous extension that was built in the 80's. We introduced as much daylight as we could and opened up the space by removing an internal courtyard. We also increased the ceiling height where we could. We worked with our clients with the internal finishes allowing them to explore materials themselves. Together we put together a great space full of personality, light and space. The new kitchen bar counter sits where a wall was originally. Two species of wood were used in the cabinets, walnut and alder. A 72" custom double stack hood and a 60 pro-style range create the focal point of this contemporary kitchen in a riverside 2nd home retreat perfect for entertaining guests. Dark chocolate quarter-sawn oak cabinetry and tumbled stone floors and walls help this new home’s kitchen resemble a traditional barn converted to a modern urban space.

The lower level includes a wine cellar, a media room, storage, guest suite, a home gym, and a wet bar by Abruzzo Kitchen + Bath. The clients always wanted a very personalized media room with mixed materials, brick walls and banquette style seating. They also enlisted an artist from Colorado to create a few of the key furniture pieces. The stained concrete floors have radiant heat throughout.
