This incredible bath was created for a family who is very much in knowing of Asian and Japanese customs. They wanted a complete Japanese bath - including an Ofuro soaking tub - which was custom made - to fit the homeowner.
The shoji screen was custom made as well and slides to create a private sanctuary for the bather. Unseen, across from the tub is an open shower with bench and hand held shower head.
Pebble have been used on the floor, both pebble tile as well as river rock to accentuate the pebble and earthy feel.
A marble vessel sink was used to also accentuate the natural feel of earthy materials.

What are the Health Benefits? Research has proved that water is a natural healer. Soaking in warm water has similar benefits to exercise without over exerting the heart. The temperature increases heart rate but also dilates the blood vessels thus increasing blood flow to the extremities of the body without raising blood pressure. Being in warm water is different from sitting in a sauna or a steam room for one very simple reason, buoyancy. When submerged in water your body can relax easily because it is essentially weightless. The warm temperature releases endorphins which eases tense muscles and stimulates nerves along the spinal cord which clams the endocrine system and internal organs. As a result, soaking can help fight insomnia, back aches, joint pains, and migraines, to name a few. Sitting in warm bath several times a week will relax your body, ease your stress and you will feel more energized as a result. Try a soaking tub, and your body will thank you for it!

Quantum Windows & Doors
Michael Jensen Photography -
This asian influenced contemporary home features Quantum’s custom wood Euro Series Windows. Of particular architectural note are the custom Lift & Slide partition panels flanking the master bath. The pocketing window panels measure just under 5 feet tall and slide along tracks to disappear into the exterior walls. This configuration allows for a virtually unobstructed 10 foot opening with which the homeowners can experience the outdoors from within.
Leading into the dining room are a pair of 4 panel interior sliding doors. Mirroring these same panel specifications are the exterior doors. Here at the home’s main entrance are double Hinged doors inlaid with obscured glass and flanked with top awning architectural windows.
