This is a custom home that was designed and built by a super Tucson team. We remember walking on the dirt lot thinking of what would one day grow from the Tucson desert. We could not have been happier with the result. This home has a Southwest feel with a masculine transitional look. We used many regional materials and our custom millwork was mesquite. The home is warm, inviting, and relaxing. The interior furnishings are understated so as to not take away from the breathtaking desert views. The floors are stained and scored concrete and walls are a mixture of plaster and masonry. Southwest inspired kitchen with custom cabinets and clean lines. Concrete pathway to front of house. We replaced ugly drains with rain chains made out of corten steel. Custom planter made out of corten steel.

The large living room was divided into several areas: game table, reading area, center table and main sitting/TV area. All white/neutral upholstery is tempered with the use of textures and wood. A custom game table has cup holder pull-outs to keep the card playing surface free of clutter. The bookshelves boast a collection of found items, family photos and books. The center table was sized to sit below the lantern and to be large enough to fill the space but small enough to not interfere with navigating the room.

Eichler in Marinwood - At the larger scale of the property existed a desire to soften and deepen the engagement between the house and the street frontage. As such, the landscaping palette consists of textures chosen for subtlety and granularity. Spaces are layered by way of planting, diaphanous fencing and lighting. The interior engages the front of the house by the insertion of a floor to ceiling glazing at the dining room. Jog-in path from street to house maintains a sense of privacy and sequential unveiling of interior/private spaces.
