African Inspiration

Before the remodel there was a wall separating the front of the house from the back. There was a formal dining room that was under utilized and a cramped kitchen. Removing the wall created one large space with natural lighting from both ends. The big island countertop allows for big projects, seating, a cleanup area, a baking area, a display cabinet and essentials like a pull-out waste bin and a pull-out knife block. Modern appliances suit the chef. The tall display cabinet greets you as you enter the large space. As you can see, inspiration came from the owner's collection of African arts and crafts.
