The finishing details and the shelving going to the ceiling are a must for me. The wallpaper will remain. I can make covered backing inserts if I want something solid to be in the background. The inserts would be easier to change than the wall covering is.

Matbe take a full wall and do a bookcase unit - also like the roominess so the dogs have room to roam
