jsjanowicz Id love to know what kind of paint you used, it looks like it has a bit of a sheen? The colour is fantastic and I’m thinking about trying it out in a piece of furniture I have.

Amy, I just used British Paints, semi gloss, interior/exterior paint, in Maritime Charcoal. I had brought the paint to do a feature wall in an entrance passage leading into our bedroom. Liked the colour so much and had paint over so I painted the back inside of some new white Ikea wall units I had brought. Then thought I'd try on bedhead as I said in earlier post I was just over the pine look. As oskuee suggested in her post I did try a few polyurethane clear gloss finishes over finished pieces in obscure places, but found it showed up all the brush strokes, (I only use good quality brushes) and I wanted a semi flat look not gloss. It depends on your own personal tastes. We aren't hard on our furniture and its 6 months since I did and still looks good(no scratches). I also ended up doing a pine wardrobe(above) we have in spare room. Didn't change brass knobs, just googled how to clean, they came up great. That's it I'm done for a while now. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

I have 2 single wrought iron bedheads from my grandmother I would like to repaint white. How do I prepare them and which type of paint would be best?
